V11 Cafe Sport on eBay (No Affiliation)
« on: May 29, 2018, 05:49:48 AM »
Good Morning,

No affiliation to the seller.

Check this out. -> https://tinyurl.com/yd9xsj8m

One of the best really, hollow front axle, Ohlins all the way around... fairly low mileage at 12k.

I'd try for it but I really can't justify it this year. :) Maybe someone here can snag it?

The speedometer looks to have been changed to another unit, as those years had the tach / speedo problems. So it's been sorted! Just needs a Roper Plate and maybe the Scud and Chuck shift spring / Lucky Phil extender. But Roper Sloper first!

I noticed it was previously owned (via VIN) by a member of the V11 LeMans board, mikie. I messaged him about it.

Hi Joe,

It does appear to be the bike I had. I bought it from Mark at Moto Guzzi Classics in Long Beach where it was on consignment from the original owner. Mark told me that he had maintained it and it was in very nice condition. I kept it that way, and it still looks pretty good from the pics. Mark told me that he replaced the original speedo with the Acewell, and the approximate mileage when he did so, but I really don’t recall so I’m not sure of the actual mileage on the bike. I don’t think it’s more than a few thousand over the indicated mileage.
When I sold it it was to an older gentleman from the San Diego area, and I never kept track of it after that, so I can’t really help you with it’s history past 2011 or so.  Please let me know if you end up with it.
Best,
Mike

I wish I could! I just don't have the cash on hand for it right now.

Go Beardog!

looks super cool! But you guys have no idea how cheap the bikes are over there compared to Europe or Denmark at least. A bike in that condition I would think would have a price tag of at least 12-15000$ over here!

Very time I see a Griso for sale I'm tempted to buy one from the states and ship back to Europe, they are just ridiculously cheap over there!

To add to the above comment, I just checked the Danish "craigslist" and there is one V11 Le Mans Scura, switch probably is the closest we can get to the cafe sport posted above. The sales price is 109.900Dkr which translates to 17,080$! There is also and old used stelvio from 2008 for sale for a steal of a price 20,000$

So don't complain about the used bike prices you have over there   :bike-037:

I think the later model naked V11 have a different headlight configuration than the earlier ones.

Yes.  Headlight mounted on a stalk, does not turn with the handlebars. OEM on Cafe Sport and Coppa Italia.

It used to be my bike, and it was a good runner when I owned it. Doesn’t appear to have had many miles put on it since then. It may be a safe bet for anyone who’s interested in buying it.
