So, where does that leave those of us who have been running Agip 10w60 4T Racing oil since Day One? Suggestions.Do I recall reading where Guzzi had switched from Agip to recommending Castrol sometime in the recent past?Bob
That leaves you with one less choice. There still are plenty of others.RedlineRoyal PurpleLiqui MolyCastrolLucasAmsoil
Eni sounds to much like a weird bird.
So, all of these offer an equivalent to 10w60 4T Racing Oil?Bob
Hi all,Check out the Amsoil site. They make 10w 60w synthetic for dirt bikes - $15.25/qt. Will this work?Be well,DougG
Gotta love old bikes and Castrol GTX 20w50.
I love it when an oil thread breaks out, I like this stuff to https://www.amazon.com/Silkolene-600885700-Pro-4-XP-Oil/dp/B01FZRF05W/ref=asc_df_B01FZRF05W/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309830501429&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3738606404669162267&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9002581&hvtargid=pla-570316634356&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=57212496130&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=309830501429&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3738606404669162267&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9002581&hvtargid=pla-570316634356
Same Silkolene is $20 for a 4L jug on closeout from Iron Pony Motorsports. Free shipping over $100...https://www.ironpony.com/ipd/pi.asp/ImageName/430360.jpg/Brand/Silkolene/c2/Oils-and-Chemicals/c3/Oil/c1/ATV-Products/KitKey2/Silk-Pro4-Xp-10w-60-4lt...
Just wondering why you blokes buy in jugs? Why not just buy a 20L drum and a drum pump? Whatever you use you'll find it drops the price considerably. If you have a current smallblock you'll probably get ten oil changes out of a drum. It's not like it's going to go 'Off' or anything......Pete
Why not buy a 50 gallon drum of oil its even cheaper. I'm sure if you buy a tanker full its even cheaper. Not like it'll go "off" or anything. The reality is dealing with pails of oil is just not worth the savings. AGIP it was suggested storing the quart bottles upside down or shake well before using as stuff would settle out. Unless I'm getting and industrial paint shaker to go with my 20L pail shaking to resuspend additives is unlikely to happen.I use at least 5 different weight oils in different 4 stroke ICB engines around the homestead. Having 5 20L pails is something that I have zero interest in housing and dealing with. If I wanted to save some real money i'd be far better off install occupancy sensors on my home lighting.
