No idea at all, but I have more of them than you do. I hope they are not something derogatory!

I'm guessing suspenders means something different in your world to what it means in mine. I hope so, anyway.

From a post made to answer a similar question on the Simple Machines forum (this board runs Simple Machines software):

Quote from: Arantor
The colour of the square is attached to the group the user is in.

For instance on this forum, you've made 1 post. On a default installation, 1 post puts you in to the Newbie group (less than 10 posts I think it is, could be wrong), and that's one yellow pip. Higher groups have more pips.

On a default installation, 5 red pips for administrator, 5 blue pips for global moderator, 5 green pips for board moderator and 1-5 yellow pips for post counts.

This is all configurable in the admin panel; here for example my badge (SMF Friend) is configured through exactly the same system attached to my group (SMF Friend)

Meh , I lurk on that site occasionally , get a kick out of the fact that the recent thread attacking me had more replies than an other recent topic . Glad to give them something to discuss

Well, I'll tellya what. I had very few of those little yellow squares and then I did, suddenly. And that very night I was abducted by UFO aliens whose vehicle looked amazingly like a Tatra 815 10X10. Just sayin'.

I figure they are just a measure of how opinionated I have become, measured by counting posts.
It has taken me 13 years' maybe 14, to get that opinionated on this site.  I have even had to re-register
a number of times because of system crashes.  Once I was the first one to re - register but the system crashed again in about a day and I was way down the line when I finally got back on.
