Baseball games in the playoffs are won more on pitching, defense, heady base running, singles, making good outs, and the heroics of a non -star player. Homeruns are dramatic, but rarely decide games. Plus Houston has Altuve and Springer. Dusty
Yankees HR 267Red Sox HR 208
Unless the bases are loaded 🤣
Which takes singles and walks, most fingers are solo shots, same result as a single, a stolen base, and another single. Dusty
Yeah, and that's where the runners ended up. Holding the bases down, on the third out. 😊
Baseball is about the only professional sport that interests me. It's because the players seem to love the game so. I hope it stays that way.
Red Sox were very avg for the last month. Yankees are dangerous. Very.
I'm a Sox fan and rootin' for them, but this statement is exactly how I feel, and I was annoyed that I didn't hear/read any similar sentiments down the stretch by Sox sportswriters. Fan base is/was waaaaaay too complacent about their 10+ game lead, forgetting that the Yanks ALSO were heading to a 100+ win season. Neither pitching staff overly impresses me at this point in the season, and the Sox have to contend with the spectre of last year's Sales performance, and THIS year's Sales sore arm. Still, I'll bank on the offensive power of the Sox to top the Yanks, Sox in 7.
Plus, they are managed by Aaron "F." Boone.
Being a fan of the game, really competitive series are what is most enjoyable. The last couple of post seasons have been really good. Dusty
There's so much to like in this photo for a NYY fan
The Astros sweep the Indians. These guys are looking like the real thing. Where did that Alex Bregman play his college ball anyway?
Baseball has an etiquette based on a long history and the unwritten rules of the gme. Players such as Altuve and the two great Pudges "got "that. Dusty
What are examples of the "unwritten rules" of the game? Just curious since most sports seem to have a set of rules that are written or terms of conduct. So any examples of this you can share that we can watch for while seeing the Astros win their 2nd series in a row?
