Like a build sheet of an old car typically found on top of the gas tank or under the backseat. Turns out my 1994 “cali3” is NOT a cali 3 but a cali 1100. Someone in past painted it and put wrong decals on it.  I just spoke to the second or 3rd owner.  Once the guy figured it out it was too late and looked good so they went with it! But that makes me wonder if they painted it is there anyway to research the vin and know the original color.  Would the mother goose in mondello have that?

Can't remember which model Cal 1100 came with chrome fenders? Mine has carbs, too. Carbs I understand.

My Internet homework hasn’t turned up another blue and cream one like mine.  I guess it’s custom?  Looks great to me

When I look at the sticker under the console lid of  my C4 corvette, or the one under the frunk (hood ) of my 911 , numbers tell all that, but ala, with  Moto Guzzi that is not the case.  Based on the motor # from my bike, I posted in another post,Most likely someone swapped the  motor on your Cali  3 as Guzzi Steve mentioned.
For the rest, you could try contacting Piaggio with your VIN and other info and possibly get some info  on your
bike.

I spoke with one of the previous owners and he said one of the other owners earlier on had the bike painted for whatever reason and that gentleman put on the California three badges by mistake but they clear coated them and they couldn’t fix it so he just went with it. So it is an 1100 bike

The eagle looking backwards on the left side of the tank is a Detomaso era thing . They would either run out of left side emblems and use the right side one on both sides or perhaps  just a money saving measure? . Many bikes of the era that used the  eagle decal   have that little quirk. Funny thing is that  when repaints were done , people replicated the backwards eagle...
