Guareschi Moto- GC Corse
« on: September 28, 2018, 03:52:03 PM »
I've had my eye on the development of this kit for the last year:
http://www.guareschimoto.it/gc-corse-kit-varano/
Guareschi Moto, same guys who campaigned the MGS-01 in the 2000's; developed what looks like to be a very competent kit for 4v and 8v 1200s. I've been debating what to do with my 1200 sport, hopefully a kit with headlight is in the works.

I have to say it's a great deal better than the usual dross that gets foisted on the CARC platform.

As said before: I've wished Guzzi would pal up again with Ghezzi et Brian or Loviselli, Now add the Guareschi's to the list. Make something ballzie, quick, light with a DIY body kit. My spine has aged out, but the idea still makes big grins.
Those blacked out Asian hot rods are so ugly they cannot be described, seriously.    R3~

I'm thinking this won't be cheap they replace everything but the driveline, However if they managed to get the setup right and they've raced a bit so this is likely it should handle all right. It will still be a dog slow turd at the track but if you get to the point of a price list @romanoaf I'd be interested in the number. 26 degree rake is still pretty lazy steering although they could of dropped some concentric bearings in there.

Does that motor increase up to 1470cc?

If it's a standard 1200 then the limiting features will be the bore which can only easily be taken out a trifle larger than the 1400's and the stroke which I have no idea about as that will be governed by clearance between the rods and dummy shaft. Biggest problem with increasing swept volume though is overwhelming the breather and condensate return system.

It has a 57-58" wheelbase and the same rake as a Griso.  How did they cut 4" of wheelbase from a Griso?

Looks like a street legal kit is already on the road in Italy. I have a 1200sport that is a perfect candidate for this, wonder how much this kit will be landed in Canada

I wonder how hard it would be to register?  Would it be legal to buy a wrecked Carc bike and call this kit a replacement frame?

Well, take a look at the pic and you'll see.  Lots of real estate in front of the engine, if you remove the silly Griso headpipes.

They sell a “ frame kit “ that bolt on a stock griso 2v or 4v
That’s all, no modifications required.
No big bore ... bla bla bla...
Swap the frame and go to the track.

Ciao

Kit included frame , gas tank, bodywork

It's interesting that you mention the breather, Pete.  I notice that the kit includes a "blow-by tank", so perhaps this is an issue they have addressed?  That's assuming that the translation is accurate, of course...

Gorgeous; would make a nice street bike. Except they claim 159 HP. As a track bike? Nah. An $8K Ducati 1198 would pound it into the ground and be far cheaper.

There's not a lot of clearance between the fender and oil cooler.  It would be fun to take it for a spin.

I have the pricing, it's not that cheap. And would you use just the stock 1200 sport forks and wheels on this bike with the 80 hp engine? When not, it will be more expensive. It's not that they are askingt to much, it's just you are building a bike out of special parts that have a price. As a complete bike the is still the Alba from Millepercento, they have a few complete bikes in the 20-30k euro range. I think they are on ebay
