I’ll be there !!! Don’t have much of a budget unfortunately….. I did see the GTV last week at blue moon
Blue Moon in Norcross, Georgia.Used to be a BMW dealership for many years(and Guzzi for a spell).2 floors of antique motorcycles most for sale. Great old names long gone now..
Todays results, good thing I sayed home, the Galetto is so prettyLot W188 1960 Lodola GT $4950.00https://www.mecum.com/lots/LV0122-488742/1960-moto-guzzi-lodola-gt/Lot W189 1965 Galetto $6600.00https://www.mecum.com/lots/LV0122-494367/1965-moto-guzzi-galletto-192/.... and the deal of the day - Lot W176 1955 Benelli Pasaro 'project' $220.00, This Benelli is so cool, https://www.mecum.com/lots/LV0122-488730/1955-benelli-pasaro/
The benelli was VERY rough !!! In my opinion parts only. The blue lodola was advertised as restored, the buyers going to be surprised. It probably was restored 20 yr ago…. The tank was full of rust !! The red galletto was ok…. Money was right on. The red lodola and the Airone are nice !!!! The gtv is an older and not the best restoration. I’ll be on it if it goes cheap, most likely it won’t. I took second place on a ‘35 velocette GTP. I figured 3-4K 5k was my max, it sold for 5300Just my 2 pennies Thx dave
I see the auction will be on TV starting tomorrow.
Some of the sellers provide a video of start up and running. Otherwise, it ran when new….A, crapshoot Also, the tan galletto is pretty nice should do 8-10k
Man there’s a lot of nice bikes there.. heavy on HD and Triumph of course. And enduro style bikes. But gems all over and some are quite affordable. If I have been registered I would’ve been very tempted to bid on this BSA, which ended up going for $5000.
If money were no object the Galletto would be going home with me . Thanks Jim . Dusty
That BSA for $5,000 was a good buy, IMHO. My buddy Mike and I driving early tomorrow, (4.5 hours)...should roll in about 12 noon. We are staying two nights at the South Point. Will take and post photos as always. A small contingency of "The Usual Suspects" from the Phoenix area already there now. We will gather about 4-5pm tomorrow evening (Friday), at "The Lobby Bar" (a different name now ??) next to the front registration desk. We always take a group photo. Please feel free to join us!
WOW, the Airone sold for 21k with fees !!! It was nice, probably very nice. But without the engine cases and other aluminum parts not properly finished I’m surprised
