Or, in 5 years "we" could buy one much cheaper due to an economic downturn, lack of interest in old bikes and other market factors. You never know for sure...

I agree, Charlie. Its a fickle world we live in, prices for some things like 70 muscle cars, and old Harleys escalate, and some other vehicles drop like a rock off a cliff. You just never know with the European stuff, even if very rare.
I think the demand, is the biggest determining factor. How many folks have a burning desire for a funky ,utilitarian Italian scooter? Other than almost all of us here
I sure would love to putter around, on the little "Rooster" !

Admittedly, it is neat little scooter, but I only might be a "player" at 1/4 the asking price, & even then I'd probably pass.  Hell, with a "top speed" of 50 mph & handling that was "good for the time period", there aren't many roads around me that I could ride it safely for more than a few miles at a time!

The only way to know is knock on the door...and start negotiating. I just did a deal on an offbeat bike and easily got 20% off the asking price. Doin' the dance is part of the thrill of the hunt!

Or, you can wait how many years to come across another nice one? Yeah, the market could tank. But...sometimes you just pay too much, too soon. And things ultimately catch up.

Most importantly, none of us are getting any younger...enjoy!
