Hmmm, all I'm gonna say is that I thought I was special.

But that was the same dinner, same bourbon, same coffee I just had.

I feel so cheap...

Loved that ride report with pics thanks Bill.

This was a really fun trip! The weather was great, and Bill (as usual) found some fine back roads as only he knows how to do. Thankfully he's slowed down enough that I can (usually) keep his helmet in sight.

Getting a chance to hear about what it is was like to play exhibition baseball during WWII with all the legends from his father-in-law was the icing on the cake.

Special thanks to John and M.L. Wells for their gracious hospitality - it was a real pleasure getting to see them again and their lovely home! Nothing like shooting a MP 40 bb gun on full auto too - what a blast! (Pun intended.) Thanks too to Mike and Sue Craven for hosting me on the way back to Florida - even though they weren't home, it was fun to see Cozi again, although I was very disappointed that my girl friend Paris was out roaming.

You never know how a road trip will turn out, only that there will be some surprises along the way - this time was no exception, and part of what makes these trips so much fun. Bad weather (not this time), law enforcement (in a good way), breakdowns (after I was gone), getting lost (all the time) - you name it - along with great fun, a lot of laughter, and fine, fine roads - what else can you ask for?

Can't wait for the next time! Many thanks Bill for more wonderful memories!

The only thing Bill left out in his otherwise stellar recounting of the PA portion of the adventure was a recounting of the Army-Navy Snoring Tournament.  I now have a woodpile that will last probably 3 winters.

Thank heaven there are no noise ordnances on our township.  Neighbors usually don't complain when I'm test-firing the cannon, but local constabulary received several complaints about someone using "diesel jake-brakes" in the vicinity of Wellspring Farm at approximately 3:30 AM on Thursday morning that week.

Seriously, a great time was had by all. I don't know how poor Larry endured all the laughter with a back complaint.  ML was in tears just reading the photo captions.  (Kind of like she was when we were all here...)

Glad those who got through some or all (!) of those liked the pix.  The trip was a joy.

Lannis is certainly right about my blessings of retirement and understanding wife.  Lordy; Kathi must have been a very bad girl in an earlier life to deserve me as penance in this one!

And, I'll overlook John's allegations of the decibel issues lest he has some recordings to make my denials hollow.

But, Kevin ...

Hmmm, all I'm gonna say is that I thought I was special.

But that was the same dinner, same bourbon, same coffee I just had.

I feel so cheap...

First, Larry is a Platinum-level member at the Hagan B&B; you a one-nighter.  You can earn points and a better meal after a few more stays, with double credit if the family comes, too.

Seriously, you did get way better wine than Larry.

Bill

P.S.  Posting pix of our short get-together soon.
