Couldn't someone put the 750 Breva motor in a Lario?  It has less  hp but other than that...........or maybe put the Lario body on the Breva frame w/17" wheels?   The 750 Targa was never sold in the US.

I think new V7s here in US are more popular because many Guzzi riders are getting older and want a lighter bike.   That's my situation @ 73 yo.  That's why I have a 750 Breva and MZ 660 Tour.

FWIW, my Lario seems quite solid at extra legal speeds. It's certainly *not* twitchy. I followed my Beemer friend Rolf in New Hampshire on the interstate, and made the 92 miles from entering it to the exit in one hour. Strike that, I never went a mile an hour over 70. Seriously, never gave it a second thought about stability.

I agree Chuck, mine's dead nuts solid at those speeds, but being as small as it is it seems very fast at around 80. Something I've noticed compared to even my V11 lemans (much heavier) is that it is unaffected by side winds. No other bike I've owned has been. I believe no bodywork and open through holes must account for this. It certainly has been a pleasant surprise to me.

I've never owned any Guzzi that's much effected by side winds unless the wind is REALLY strong.    I time riding west across Oklahoma we hit a strong constant southerly wind and both me(CX100) & my buddy on his `97 Cali. rode for hours leaning left, him more effected by the wind by his full upright windshield.

Steamdriven on this site has hung a Nevada engine in a Monza. Very pretty it is too. He has left it "unmolested', tidy but not restored and it is very difficult to actually notice the different engine fitted in it. That it is not to say he had a few problems making the Monzada.

Brian, good to see those 4 valvers still going for it. A nice looking stable indeed.

Steamdriven is a first class guy.  When thinking about a larger engine for the Monza I asked him about his Nevada powered Monza and he sent me a bunch of info, described the process and sent detail photos and even some links as where to look for a Nevada!

That's almost 6 years ago Tom - you (a very tall guy with a short name)   picked us up on a late flight at the airport, as the imigration in DC messed up our flight plan, by only having a few officers for several hundred passengers, and they could not care less. Never going via DC ever again. Great service in all other US airports.

Since Tom got married and moved to Germany he's lost so much weight now you can hardly recognize him now when you meet him.

Doing a lot of working out I assume - being married is not always such a bad thing  :cheesy:

Hi Muzz
Good to hear from you!
Yeah, still going for the 4 valvers.
Even thougn they were not Guzzi's most genious engine design, they protude some charme, I cannot resist.
My design still holds up, but I still need to put many more km's on the clock.

Why thank you. Most kind! (and unexpected)
It was no bother, anything to help. I rode it again last weekend (I have had spinal issues which are making it difficult at times, numbness in the hands mostly) but managed almost 90km mostly issue free. I have had corrective maintenance on my spine for 20 years but my job and time seem to be catching up on me. Could be worse, many here can tell me that.

The white paint was inspired by seeing a white Mk3 Lemon going past and I though "that's the answer to the standard pale silver blue colour.
There are issues in doing what I did, but only for me. The next person to try has all the answers if the want, just PM me. There are no compromises really in the swap, nothing that you 'just have to accept' because everything was built to make it just like it was to own and ride. Except from turning it into a (relative) torque monster

When the day comes and I can't ride it any more it will be sad indeed. Next year though we move over the hill, so it will be regularly commuted over Dyers Pass Road, full of corners....I will be able to ride that far to work at least  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

You will be able to take the long way home around the rim road Kev. :thumb: The end to a perfect day I feel. That's a neat piece of road, especially if you don't happen to catch up with a Triffid.
