This looks appealing, but I'd like a real real fender and longer front fender - also a bit pricey:

I have liked this bike since seeing it two weeks ago, it's probably the best looking of the Scambler line. Unfortunately it also makes a very hipster statement which spoils it, maybe a different color scheme?

The name makes no sense - "Scrambler" then "Cafe Racer". Which is it? Does it have multiple personality disorder or is it bipolar?

Not as attractive as the V7. And who'd want to ride an Audi anyway.

It's nice, but it looks too much like a toy. I would also prefer the possibility of taking a passenger when times called for it.

The rear seat cowl comes off. Notice the silver passenger pegs.

I like it, but wish the rear bodywork was longer like the Triumph. I don`t want a bike that looks like it`s ready to be humped doggie style

Normally sized, stout Americans need not apply as passengers. That Ducati passenger seat is good only for petite Italian supermodels.

Not as attractive as the V7. And who'd want to ride an Audi anyway.

Side by side with no identification and looks as the only consideration for purchase, the Ducati would outsell the V7 10 to 1 and it will get more compliments out in public from non-motorcyclists.  I would buy the Triumph though.

It pains me to agree with Kent, but I cannot tell a lie.

I love my V7, but I'm sure this is true.

Just the reaction from the curmudgeon crowd here tells you the story.

Whiny crap about hipsters or the fender not being big enough wah.

And passenger accommodations?

It's not trying to be a tour bike.

Hell passenger's need not apply to my V7 out Jenn's 696 either, despite the pegs that are in place and will forever wait on vain.

I should buy one of these just to annoy curmudgeons that would probably be worth the price of admission.

But I'll still take the V7 over all this stuff...even the new Triumphs.

It's my opinion no honest objective comparisons can be made between a Guzzi, Ducati or the Triumph...All different machines with different mechanical designs....Going from the my 97 Buell to the 96 Ducati 900M and then the 84 Cali cafe bike... it's night and day differences between them.

I'm not sold on the stying, but aesthetics has a way of following function.  If it's a great bike, the aesthetics will grow on you.

And I think this is going to be a great bike for urban shenanigans and canyon carving.  I love the power plant, and Ducati's promo literature says they've taken steps to tame the low rpm stutters.

To me it has a very different appeal than the V7.  I'd like to have one of each for different moods.

Precisely the reason that I have a Ducati Monster and (2) V7 in the fleet.

I'd have to say, if I didn't already have a V7 Racer, I'd buy this over a V7 Racer, just because it has the performance to back up the look, and sportier riding position.

Anyone who buys this will be doing so in spite of the "scrambler racer" label, which is beyond stupid.

Visually, a scrambler should have high mounted mufflers. The Duc doesn't have this, so I agree that the term Scrambler may be a misnomer in this case.

Does anyone else see the potential for serious injury if the passenger slips backwards off the pillion?

Or do you just ride the thing swiftly so she holds on REAL tight?
