Well, the only historic tavern around here is frequented by serial killers so I went for a bridge.  It's not the Brooklyn Bridge so I did a two-fer.

Oyster Creek Bridge was built in 1924 on what was then Pacific Hwy 1.

https://bridgehunter.com/wa/skagit/oyster-creek/

It is just north the Blanchard Bridge that was built in 1931 over tidewater and the Great Northern Railroad.  The red house at the north end is where Edward R. Murrow grew up.

Both are eligible for register of historic places:
https://www.wsdot.wa.gov/environment/protecting/history-archaeology-culture/historic-highway-sr-11

If Blackcat judges this to be sufficient, here's the next tag.

A historic plaque about 100 years old (or more).  It could be a builder's plate or similar.  Bonus points if the combined age of plaque and bike is greater than 180 years!

"Dedicated to the memory of Governor Lister by the Ladies Improvement Club of Edison, Wash."  Apparently the ladies of Edison were Rough!   :boozing:

I can't find a date - it may have been placed when the road was finished in 1916 or after Lister died in 1919.

Seems like they fit the bill.

Racking my brain trying to think of where there would be a 100 or more year old plaque around here. There are several denoting centennial or older events, etc. but they were erected relatively recently..

Could it be a VIN or manufacturers plaque on an old car or locomotive?  Old address or business plaque on a building?

Anyway, Falcone (?) used for a tag.  We is too, too, cool.

Evil  indeed. You guys are gonna get me in trouble.

If this is in part the intent of this exersize, mission accomplished. Not being a native Hoosier, I couldn't accept the lack of an old enough marker, did some homework, and viola.

Found out about a marker which you can read about here....
https://historicindianapolis.com/lincoln-spoke-here-the-marker/

Originally placed in 1907, but relocated several blocks away in 1967, when it's host structure was demolished. commemorating a speech given by Abraham Lincoln from a hotel balcony. the Bates Hotel..yup, can't make this stuff up...is long since demolished.

In order to grab this tag I had to illegally drive around a barricade onto a pedestrian only sidewalk. There was a Capitol police cruiser not 30 yards away, and I wasn't comfortable so I'm not happy with the pic, but the gauntlet was thrown...

Similar story for my next tag. This area is closed when events are not happening, and no auto access exists when they are. In this case there was an occupied guard vehicle, and as I took the photo, the windows dropped and I was told my bike couldn't be there.

the tag: Any professional racing venue.

Here's one you may have heard of before...

 :copcar: :boozing:

edit to add, combined age of tag and bike, only 131 years. sorry. If I was in NH I coulda nailed it.

Outstanding!  Didn't mean for anyone to come up against the long arm of the law :copcar:, but figured that our state being the 42nd admitted to the Union would give most a shot.

Best thing is cool photos with stories and I learn something too!  Well done Kidsmoke.  And I liked the slippery noodle too.  How'd it get that name?

for the tag, I was talking to Superman the other day, and he said it is getting tough to find a phone booth to change in.. so I rode all over the "old" part of town at great risk to life and limb.. but he was right.
So..
How about an old railway station for the tag?

Got it...

Old RR depot in Troy, OH.

Still RR property on an active CSX line. Not sure whose it was back in the day. Candidates would be the B&O, the PRR, or even the NYC.

Well, it is in Holbrook Pennsylvania which is in the heart of Pennsyltucky, so it wouldn't surprise me.  But it's not in this case.  Just a picnic pavilion.  Lovely little church, so someone grabbing the tag will get extra (non-existent) points for cute country church.

Incidentally, what type of jet is that?  F-86?  Famous collector/hoarder in Blacksville, West by god Virginia. The old gas pump tag that I got is right next to that plane.  Rumor is that he also has one of the first cars made in America down there somewhere.

Abandoned restaurant (Red Apple Rest) that we use to stop at on a weekend motorcycle trips about 12-15 years ago that hasn’t been in business since that time. It use to be a bustling enterprise in the 20’s-30’s-40’s-50’s-60’s as a bus stop for those going to the Catskills out of NYC. Otherwise known as the Borscht Belt where comedians, singers etc. entertained those escaping the city for the summer.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borscht_Belt

Anyway, the photo has to be an abandoned establishment that you personally used on a motorcycle day trip or whatever.
