Title: In desperate search of whole tail light setup for 98 Cali
Post by: Darq_H0rs3 on August 05, 2021, 02:33:22 PM
Riders!

My buddy helps me on all my projects but will no longer ride with me because his lights have snapped off his 98 Cali. I wanted to Jerry rig it, but he insists on keeping it original.

He and I have called around to various placces we could find online to find a replacement, but haven't had any luck. I created this account just to ask this community. I beleive the part # is 30740960 and I will attach a picture.

Please let me know if you know where to get one or might have one yourself! Please help me get my riding buddy back!

Have you tried Harper's?  There is also a breaker in England that does Guzzis, the name escapes me at the moment.

@RTBickel

Thanks! I just called. They are out of stock. However, they are in the process of making a replacement bracket that may do the trick.

Since they don't make these parts anymore and almost everywhere I talk to is out of stock, I'm thinking I'll have to find another one in a scrap yard and have someone take it off and ship it to me/us. Anyone know of anything like that?

Darq_HOrs3,

Can you say what caused this, or what part broke?

I have the same light, and would like to know what may happen, and how to reinforce it.

Good luck!  The oem plastic and rubber parts deteriorate with ozone damage.  You might get lucky but it will take time to find them.  Might be faster to do some adaption to the original one.

I'm guessing you're thinking of Gutisbits.  Looks like they can only supply by special order.

Here's a twin rear tail light assembly.  The rest you could probably knock up at home.

I have dealt with Reboot spares.

Good folks - fair prices.

I believe that they are located in France, so shipping might be $$$.

You could JB Weld the one off the bike as a stop gap repair but the plastic in general will deteriorate eventually.  How much does he want to spend??
