Although I feel for you folks in the lower 48, it was above freezing and nothing coming out of the sky in Alaska today, so I took the rodekyll out. The odyssey 925 was at 11v after sitting a year, so I charged it while I bled the brakes and checked tire pressures. Once charged, the bike started like it had run yesterday, even though the old gas isn't treated. I didn't really expect that, and it walked a few feet before I got my hand on the brake. I let it loosen up a little and wheeled it to the street. So far so good -- I felt I could handle the weight and balance.
I let it idle on the curb while I got into my gear -- nothing special, just my armored Tourmaster jacket, light gloves, and Nolan. This combination had been intolerable for my arms and neck before the surgery, but it felt pretty 'normal' now. Pulling out, the bike felt like it should. A mile down the clean, dry road I was still doing good. This distance in my riding gear was about the limit when I garaged the bikes. I could tough it out, but riding was no fun. 30 miles later I was out of road and there was frost forming, so I parked it. The only things suffering are my lower back and wrists, both of which I think are due to two years of disuse. It's encouraging. I can see myself doing road trips again.

RK,
The polar bears looked south and grinned.
Puffins likely stopped eating and pondered your sound.
Even the belugas turned green with envy.
And surely an Alaskan Eagle rode again.
cheers and blessings,

I was hoping to ride one to the Guzzi breakfast this morning but the thermometer just now moved into the positive side. Brrrrr.

RK, That's great that your body is cooperating, ride safe & ease back into riding again.
