STELVIO NTX REPLACEMENT WINDSHIELD

I did not find a thread concerning aftermarket screens to address too much flow on my chest.  I wonder if anyone has experience with the GIVI D610ST? Or others? I'm concerned with fouling the hand grips, and too much still air...

I have the taller Givi on my 2009 Stelvio (I forget the exact part number). I really like it. though I often go back to the factory shield for a few summer months when we are around 100F.

I'm not sure the Givi works with the NTX, so be careful there if that is what you have.

You might want to check out the Givi website.  They show an "Airflow Windshield System" that has two shields; one mounted on the bike's mounting arms, the other (which is adjustable) mounted on top of it.  I have seen this system mounted on a few NTX's and the riders say it is very effective.  I have no experience with it myself.

I am pleased with my CalSci although bolting it up was funky because the angle of the screen doesn't match the bike's hardware. You may need some extra washers.
It has a vent that prevents a negative pressure pocket.
I ride with my faceshield open all of the time except rain and cold.

I have a Cal-Si also and as others report I wasn't happy with the close proximity of the shield to the front body work. So I removed the the nose fairing and shimmed out the bracket that holds the windshield about 3/4 of an inch with spacers. Works well now and I have about 30K miles with the Cal-Sci on.

You may also want to PM Peter Youngblood ("pyoungbl" -- on this website).  He had a windshield made in Florida for his NTX by Gustafson (may be misspelled).  He has been very satisfied with it.  Peter can describe what his shield is and how it differs from the stock shield.

 :+1 on the Gustafson screen. I have one as a replacement on a SP I fairing that I have on my T-3. Very effective and good quality. I have had it for a number if years now and have yet to scratch it.

What kind of washers did you use ? I have the cal/sci sitting in a box for the reason you've mentioned . It would be great to get it mounted properly .

I used 4 bushings that were 3/4 inch thick.

I've always liked GIVI quality and although I find the height of the stock shield [at full lift] acceptable, width is a question. So, GIVI's D610ST appears to be a good compromise height and width wise.  Givi says there are no hand guard fouling issues with its D610ST.  But I don't think that's correct.  Too bad.

But the question is, does the D610ST fit the pre-NTX, or the NTX, or both?

WELL, on my most recent ride, now that Spring has sprung, I collected A LOT of wildlife on my face shield.  So, the stock windscreen isn't going to do.  I'm leaning to the Wonderlich wind deflector. Unless I'm convinced otherwise...

I put the xcreen large drill mount on the stock Stelvio screen and it made a huge difference.  I like to ride with my visor up and there was just too much turbulence before.  Twisted Throttle has them and are very fast shipping.

WELL, I was convinced otherwise and I purchased the Gustafsson +3 windscreen. So far I'm impressed.  Very little turbulence and I can now ride with my face shield up. (We'll see when the bugs are out again.) Only hassle was drilling three of the 4 mounting holes without a hole saw (which I found later.)
