I saw one of my good Cajun friends at Daytona last week and he said there was a renewed effort from the organizers to re-start the early-November Swamp Scooter Rally again this year. Stay tuned.

My understanding is that it is still on.

However, since the big flood over there, things may have changed. I have a contact with those boys so I'll text them for an update and report back.

Just heard back from my contact Cajun friend and, yes, Swamp Scooters is still on for November 11-13.

That area did not get hit too badly from the flooding.

I'm planning on going.

Another genuine, like the locals do, full-bore Cajun place just down the road from the SS campground is Poche's Market/Restaurant. They pronounce it "Po-shay's"

I don't think I will. I did that a few years ago. It ends up being a dust bowl. You gotta stay at the front of the pack.

I think my sports will be centered on the festivals and food places. You gotta come. Peter has already booked.

All bikes are welcomed, no matter what the color.

This is largely a BMW event but there is typically a large contingent of Moto Guzzi bikes there. Of course, you always have the Harleys and the various Japanese brands. Oh, Indian too.

It's an open event.

In the past, this has been a great rally. I hope this year lives up to the tradition after last year's hiatus.

Dave...do you van it out, or do you ride the V7? Have you found any interesting back road routes to get out there...I don't fancy a 220 mile slab run after seeing it just recently driving out to pick up the Scura. Other than the run across Atchafalaya, not much else scenic on I-10 to see headed out there.
