Let's leave it at this:  I went a long way towards Cedar Vale then went east but only so far as the second lake dam is closed to thru traffic... :grin:

I wish Highway XX was open all the way to the east, 'cause you can bop over and then go south down the Illinois River valley and that's a GREAT bike road....and there's Hint #3!

hmm.  that first one with the bridge isn't jumping out as familiar; let me ponder it.  As for the second; nobody will confuse Monterrey Bay with T. Roosevelt Lake.

It was 1995.  Vail, Colorado.  I parked under a cover of a parking garage during a heavy rain storm.  When I returned to the bike, the rear tire was completely flat.  Time to get out the tire irons.  sigh...  I believe I'm not to far from the location.

I took this shot way back in 1980.


I've long since learned to follow the truck-route through Jackson (to avoid all the tourists), so (surprisingly) I don't have any shots of that place.

Bingo Daniel!!  Right over the Snake River just south of Jackson - a magical place in the winter or summer time!  Nothing like riding thru the Tetons thru Yellowstone - as long as there are no RV's to chase...
