Title: 2000 Bassa
Post by: oldbike54 on May 14, 2019, 06:50:18 AM
At the WG National last weekend one of those *too good to pass up* opportunities popped up , and now I am the proud owner of a very fancy 2000 Bassa . Now those of you who know me might be a bit shocked to see this old counter culture character riding up on a blinged out high zoot Bassa , heck , riding this thing might require a new helmet to replace the old Bell Superlight

So this happened thru the generosity of more than one Guzzi family member and the ridiculous low selling price , I am not even exactly certain who all contributed , or even why for that matter . In the end I only had to take a small amount out of my own wallet to finish the deal , it was slightly surreal . There are really no words to express my gratitude , except to say thanks  :thumb: She is safely ensconced next to the raffle bike in Cedar Vale , both will be retrieved on Monday , more to the story coming .

2000, a good year for electrical gremlins, should be easily fixed though.
Mileage?

Some people deserve good things to happen to them. I believe you're one of them Dusty. Good for you - and best wishes to the contributors.

Seeing this happen was the final thing that sold me on the idea that this is a community that I need to be a part of. Met so many awesome people, saw so much generosity, and had an amazing time. I'll be a lifer, here.

Davedel and I were just discussing this , now get to work on bringing more younger folks on board JC  :thumb:

Ccoli tracked it down to the gauge cluster , it runs and charges , it is just blowing the tail light fuse (hopefully)

Congrats Dusty.  That's a pretty bike, matches your hair.

I am so glad that I don't have to worry that you'll get run over since the taillight on that old Jackal has never worked.  I am grateful just so you'll be safe.  :thumb:

I'm sensing a common element here..

all you have to do is pull the fuse.
Seriously, if it's blowing the fuse, replace that with a tail light bulb with a couple of leads soldered on it. That way you won't be wasting money on fuses.. (Guzzi content)  and when the light goes off, you've found the short.

One side always works , they just alternate ...

Already working in it! I've already told several of my friends who ride (and a few who don't) that we need to get them a Guzzi. Not sure I have any of them sold on going Guzzi, yet, but I do have a few who are already planning on attending next year's rally. Maybe we can convince them, once they see some more of these beautiful machines in person.  :thumb:

Brother!

I currently have no brake or tail light, but I'll certain mine didn't catch it from yours.

Does the City light work in the headlight?
Both the City light and the tail light are on a different contact of the ignition switch, they both operate in the park position.

Never mind I see they are working now, might be an intermittent bad ground.

A little early Xmas present for the esteemed Sultan of Seedhur Veil!  I think a full on white Elvis jumpsuit made by Aerostitch should match nicely to that luminescent Pearly White Bassa!

Enjoy it but please no duct tape on the seat!! After seeing the work King of Fleece did on the Stones seat...well now you have an alternative in case of future tears!

I expect we’ll see the Bassa on top of Talimena this year!!

No, nothing approaching visible brakelights.

I'll sleep easier knowing that you aren't riding it.
