Bassa , a few questions

 1. What is the small Allen screw located at the top rear side of the shocks for ?

 2. Why do the fork seals on the non-adjustable forks never seem to leak , while the adjustable forks on the EV and Bassa models always seem to weep ?

(1) I have no idea.
(2) I'm *guessing* that the adjustable forks are designed with less stiction, and the seals are more delicate. Certainly the Ohlins seals on the V11S don't last as long as the less expensive spread.

1. If that Allen is on the underside of the frame , they are plugs.  I was on a ride with John Ulrich who has a beautiful white Bassa, perfect machine. We were parked and I noticed a rust spot on the top of one of his mufflers, I of course politely pointed the unsightly gob to John. Turns out the Allen plugs were missing and it happened when the bike was parked at a certain angle, water from a recent wash drained out.   I tried to not let the other guys tease him so unmercifully but great sport was had by all.

Do you think it's a fill hole for the oil?  I never took the plastichrome covers off the top of mine to notice the top of the shocks.

 Had that thought . There doesn't appear to be any adjustment on the shocks , which seems weird .

I've not seen what you are describing.  On my Bassa there is way to adjust spring preload. There is a circlip with three grooves. You have to compress the spring, like you were taking the spring off to change grooves. Not for the faint of heart

 They are under the chrome cover at the top . Will take the bags off and look for any adjustment .


 

#3, are these shocks worth keeping?   No

 Dunno , they seem to work alright .

Stock Bassa stocks will crush your spine.  I put a set of Ikon made a huge difference.
