There are several distilleries nearby. The Bourbon Trail is right there. Woodford Reserve, Makers Mark, Wild Turkey (as you mentioned.)

Buffalo Trace has a free (Guzzi content) tour, and it's a good one. Four Roses. Beautiful horse country winding roads.

There was talk of heading Heaven Hill this year. In my experience it's not been done by the rally crew,at least not in the last 3 years.

At the World Spirits competition in San Francisco in 2018, their limited bourbon, Henry McKenna 10 yr old Bottled in Bond Single barrel won Best Bourbon, this year, the same bourbon did something only one other bourbon has EVER done...it took Best in Show over ALL whiskeys.

I think that puts it square in our sights, eh Chuck? Maybe we go Friday as a small group, leave the spirited tire rounding run for Saturday.....It'd make for a solid 140 miler...

That just may be a plan. I *think* Dorcia could go that far..
Willet is right next door to Heaven Hill, from memory.. an interesting single copper still distillery.

Or --- I could take Dorcia in the Vette.

Does that mean you're taking a run over there?

I know it can be done because a fella from Mena Ar. got the long distance award from out Ohio Rally. Proof you folks from the other side of the river can go East.

It's a really nice rally. I don't think you would regret it.

Actually, they called late today and said that the Eldo is "fixed".   Assuming that is true - then it'll be making the trip

John and or Todd.

Just a heads up. There are a couple of Guzzi Rally newbies showing up today. Pat Corrigan and Jay. I've given Pat enough info to get going in the right direction once they get there today. Pat is getting his first service done today at Cadre' so I don't know when they will arrive. Jay made his first Guzzi Rally attendance in Ohio. Pat has only ever day tripped in but both are not strangers to rallies.

Make sure you give them both a hard time prior to my arrival.

See ya Thursday.

Especially Jay on the hard time. Trust me, he can take it and more. A very interesting and funny person. (Extremely full of BS though)

All work and no play makes Jim a dull boy?  We'll miss you. The Kid decided he didn't want to deal with the ant farm round Chicago at rush hour(s) last night, so they are leaving Wisconsin this morning. We'll probably be in late in the afternoon.

I would like to thank all of the KY crew that put in such a heroic effort to make this rally such a success.  With much of the days in the 90 degree range, our wonderful chefs were standing in there preparing hot food.  I personally appreciated the constant supply of cold drinking water like never before.  Also, to my other friends who attended, did anyone else notice the improvement to the shower area?  Kudos to Sloan's for bringing demos of the v85tt, v7 and scooter.  I think the demo bikes were running non-stop on Friday.  Finally, a personal thank you to the gent who exchanged a cold beer with a warm beer for on Saturday afternoon when it was desperately needed.  Can't wait to see you all again for the 20th and maybe it will feel like autumn next year.
