What's in your garage?
« on: January 24, 2021, 07:12:45 PM »
This is a diverse group, and some of us are exclusively Guzzi riders, some are multi brands, and some have cars, motorcycles, and other 'recreational' vehicles to include ATV's, Boats, snow mobiles.

So..... Show what you got.... Would be cool to see what you have in your stable. In my case, I have a small 1 car garage, so my stuff is scattered between my garage, my driveway, and two storage units. So perhaps this should say 'what do you have?'  I think we keep this to what is currently in your possession as an owner, when you 'acquired' it and any interesting story related to the machine.

My signature kind of says it all, but I did just acquire a second motorcycle lift. That ended any pretense of the garage ever holding an automobile. Upstairs holds boxes of parts, frames and extra fuel tanks. Only interesting if you are really into old, mildly collectible motorcycles.

The Breva is not mine but will be the future Cedar Vale raffle bike. It is sweet.
The CT90 will be another future raffle bike. It originally belonged to an older cousin that taught me riding basics on it when I was 10. The tractor is a 1958 IH 350. The first mechanical vehicle that I learned to use. Still have it and still use it.

OMG

Over the last few years I've gotten rid of a lot of equipment, but I'd still have to hire an equipment manager to give you the full low down, lol

I picked up a McCormick tractor (rebadged Kioti DK40), so with all the attachments, I had some hard decisions to make, there's been some juggling for space in the garage  :violent1:

I recently got rid of a nice old Yamaha Enticer ll long track snowmobile, but the one that really hurt was getting rid of my old 85 K5 Jimmy 6.2 w ATS turbo 4" lift.

I always wanted to redo the truck, but time and reality take priority; I spoke to a buddy who is excellent in restoring hot rods, he gave me some great advice, that I'd never stop if I took a grinder to the rust on the body, he was right, when I was vacumning out the mouse sh*t and carcasses inside the cab I could see daylight through every corner and seam.

The truck had not run in 7-8 yrs, with a couple of new batteries it fired right up, here's a picture just before it literally climbed up the frame rails and onto the equipment float on the way out the driveway

The triumph Trophy 900 is in the tiny shed. Waiting patiently for some attention.

The Quota is under a super nice cover just outside the front door. I try to ride it at least weekly this time of year. Almost daily in nice weather.

The Jeep Renegade Trailhawk has become hers.

The Fiat 500 that was hers has become my winter/rainy car.

My 97 Dodge 2500 with the original 12v Cummins stubbornly running along. Gets used for heavy lifting type jobs.

Moms 93 Toyota truck with 5 speed, 22re. It’s the family runabout.

Mom has her 2017 Hyundai Ioniq, 50 mpg and she got in early so hers had the lifetime battery warranty.

Kayaks, bicycles, a tiller, and two riding mowers (one for the yard, one for the lower 40) round out what would be the garage if we had one!😂

Sold our house of 20 yrs. and all in it. Garage and bike barn empty, 14 motorcycles sold. Kept my 2003 Tri. Bonneville & wifes 16" wheel 150cc scooter. We bought a 2021 Duchman TT hooked it to the back of our 79 P-30 stepvan, hooked the bike trailer to the Nissan Frontier and left Fl.

Funny you should bring this up... because last night I almost went down a rabbit hole to add a fifth bike but I'm pretty sure that's not a good idea with the current square footage.

We currently squeeze in the fleet listed below, plus a JKU Wrangler and new Defender, one back-up generator, four bicycles, nearly a dozen helmets, a bike lift, my tool boxes, compressor, press etc. (gotta find room to add a tire mounting rig), a workbench, shelving for days (a row of Yetis), a hoist to remove/hold the Jeep hardtop or store the soft top in winter, and tons of other breck.

I'm currently in negotiations with myself to start planning a garage expansion of basically one more long thin bay (whatever we can squeeze between the current structure and the wetlands buffer zone) and perhaps have the lift placed level inside the new concrete pad). That might free up some room but I fear the contents would just swell to the new size if you know what I mean.

-1979 Yamaha XS 1100 - Bought in 1984, was my first dream bike, and fell in love instantly. Over 130K miles, most put on from 1984-2000 when I retired it from daily and long distance riding. Has been in storage since 2013.

-1978 Yamaha XS 750 - Bought this in 1990 in hopes my wife would ride it. Had custom 9" shocks made, and lowered in triple tree, but to no avail. No plans to ride it again, but is not worth anything, so it stays.

- 1976 Porsche 912 E - Dream car, pulled out of the woods in 2010 and did a full restoration, all work done myself with the exception of the heads and final bodywork/paint.

- 2007 Moto Guzzi Griso - My first Guzzi in 2015, and second bike to pierce to my heart the way the XS1100 did. LOVE this bike. Hoping my body will let me ride it again.....

- 2017 Toyota Tundra TRD PRO - Bought in 2017, my first and likely only truck. Plan to keep till I can't drive.

- 2017 Moto Guzzi Stornello - Bought in 2018 with the goal of making a V7 as capable as the V85TT. Fun little bike! Too many 'modifications and farkles' to mention. 10 minutes to change tank and side covers, 20 to remove all the racks and windshield to suit my mood.

- 1976 Moto Guzzi Convert - First saw this in 2018, and couldnt get it out of my head. After selling the MGX last year, I bought as a project to refresh while I recouped from hip & knee replacement surgeries.

- 2009 Moto Guzzi 1200 Sport - A bike I always wanted, even before I had ever ridden a Guzzi and on my 'would love to have list' The stars aligned last year when Bob was selling this beauty. Only had a chance to put 2K more miles on it before knee replacement surgery in October, but hope next year to pile the miles on.

image upload site

- 2020 Ford Mustang Bullitt - This one almost got me divorced ;-) Bought last year on my 20 year anniversary of being in the Army. First Mustang or Ford, truly an impressive car and great replacement for the BMW E36 M3 I had for 20 years. Hope to keep this as long as well. 3 Season DD.....

Thanks! Probably my favorite from our collection.  I look like a circus bear on a tricycle on it, buy I don't care so much fun and peppy too even with my big butt! It also has a great story from the little lady I bought it from who has now passed away.  Special bike indeed.
