Does A Valtec Blade Style Tensioner Ever.....
« on: May 13, 2021, 05:23:58 PM »
Shut the heck up???

I just put one in my Ambo 1000. Sounds like I have a blower or a belt drive going on, which is kinda cool in a odd sort of way. I hope it gets a bit quieter and solves my noise issue.

It just changes the noise to a different one.

My G5 is not too noisy with a new banana damper. maybe it will fade over time?

I had a whine from the timing chain on my SPIII.
Found I had one of those valtech tensioners fitted, the spring had broken (never did find the broken end) and the tensioner was at a crazy angle.

I replaced it with the later sprung Guzzi one (which a past owner had removed).
I then heard several accounts of those springs breaking.

I had the spring break on my Eldo’s tensioner years ago.  Found the end with the “hook” in the sump.

Well it's not so bad while riding, too many other noises like wind ect..

Didn't solve my engine noise problem. Need to play with it some more.

My Cal 2 had a noticeable whine after installation several years ago. Can't say I even notice it now.
