Any other Moto Guzzi Robin nerds here?
« on: October 25, 2021, 10:26:48 AM »
Well I couldn't resist, did an impulse buy.  Found a clean little running Moto Guzzi Robin.

Any other Robin owners out there share your pics, thoughts or knowledge with me!

Picking mine up Thursday, will look good next to the Honda Super Cubs!

Thats a cool color!

Just sold mine, NC changed license/registration requirements on mopeds about 3 weeks after i bought it, so I rode it a few dozens/hundred miles and then drained & stored it for a few years.

They are fun little scoots. I was excited to use it for buzzing up and down the 'high street' when I lived in the city. Now that I live out in the country it would have been much less useful.

I think you will find it tiny and slow, with weak lights but a big grin factor!

Ccoli is a Robin nut.  Last I know he had 2 running and another for restoration or parts.   I was looking to add one to the Pacific Moto Guzzi Wildlife Refuge but the shipping is crazy for that.

From the Deep Deep South out in left field.  There are no stupid questions.  There are however stupid people asking questions.  🤣, this includes me.  😉

My Robin had low miles looked great, except for some paint bubbles on the gas tank which turned out to be holes in the tank. I was able to buy a NOS frame from Harper's for $75. I don't use it much but its fun when i do. I also have a 77 LeMans and as a friend said I have the fastest and slowest Guzzi from the 70's. Speaking of which replace the air intake with the less restrictive one and it will do an honest 28mph eventually. I

I also have a second one that needs to be restored.

I am the current owner of Mayor of BBQ's robin.  It has just the right amount of power for my 12 year old.  This past weekend we both scooted around our neighborhood he on the robin and me on my lodola.  It was a blast.

Yes I have one in each color, white, orange and blue. The blue one doesn't have a title but the other ones are registered and insured. Had a ton of spares but sold a pile to a guy in Illinois, still have some bits. Moved last year and haven't had time to ride them much less work on them. Being threatened by another guy that he might bring me his long non running one. Fun little machines until you forget and go around the corner with the inside pedal down.

I had five of them at one time …..  one left now. I have a ton of spares if you need anything let me know, I may be able to to help. Main jet size if critical for best performance. Even as little as one size up or down will make a difference!

I have an orange one.  Tagged and insured for road use here in AL, but there aren’t many roads near me where you can actually ride it without risking getting flattened by Mr Impatient Cell Phone driver.  Runs good but the lights are non-op right now. Want to eventually get them fixed.

Thats a nice little mod on the fender stay...  Most of them have cracked rear fenders from kids riding their buddy around on the luggage rack!
