A great war movie, "Das Boot".
GliderJohn

I love that movie. Went to see it in one of those tiny NYC movie theaters that is about 20 feet wide by 80'? long and the A/C went out right before the film started which highly added to the viewing of the film.

A few that I can't believe I left off earlier:

American Graffiti

Clerks

The Warriors

Escape from New York

The Beast (There are a number of films with this title. I'm referring to the one about a Soviet tank crew in Afghanistan.)
Then again, when I was watching Predator I didn't think two members of its cast would become governors, either. So you never know.

I will add most any Jay and Silent Bob movie . An old Roy Scheider movie *The Sorcerer* is pretty intense .

How about Harold & Maude..  You can have those manly men blubbering like a pack of little girls in no time!

Yes, if not for the movie itself, then for the scene with the Guzzi cop taking off with the side stand down.
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

I've never seen "Sorcerer" but will probably watch it since it made the "Man Film" list.

Looking up the Director for it, I read:

"Director William Friedkin initially wanted Steve McQueen to star in the film. McQueen accepted the part, but on one condition--he wanted a co-starring role for his then wife, Ali MacGraw. Friedkin would not accept his conditions, and McQueen dropped out of the film. Friedkin later went on record, regretting not accepting McQueen's conditions. He tried to get Clint Eastwood or Jack Nicholson, but neither wanted to travel at that time. He stated that casting Roy Scheider in the lead was the worst casting decision he has ever made. Although he felt Scheider is a good actor who did a great job, he is only interesting in a film as a "second or third banana, he's not a star."   "

Hmm.  I'm sure that there are Roy Scheider fans who might disagree ... !

Anyway... I liked 'In Bruges' as a Guy Movie, the only Colin Farrell movie that isn't awful.

Love diversity but Beaches is lame.  Real men can open a bottle of Riesling, grab a box of Kleenex, and watch Big Fish together.

Afterwards there needs to be some Team America and/or Idiocracy.

Oh Yes! The Blue Max and Nevada Smith definitely qualify. Boy that brought back a memory. When I was 9 years old I got to go on my first cattle selling trip. Rode in a semi loaded with cattle with the driver and my father from north of Wichita to the stockyards in Kansas City. After selling the cattle the following morning my father took me to the Eisenhower Memorial and the to see "Navada Smith". Pretty hard hitting movie for me at the time. Then got to ride the Santa Fe Super Chief home to Newton, KS. Heady times!

Can't go wrong with any of these.  Light a Montecristo No. 2 and enjoy with a good Scotch or Porto.

Speaking of intensive, watch Ken Russels film The Devils, with Vanessa Redgrave and Oliver Reed. I have not seen it in sometime, so I don't know what is currently available but try to get an uncensored copy.

Still too intense for the UK:

"Guillermo del Toro slams Warner over Ken Russell's Devils censorship
1 December 2014 9:42 AM, PST | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

Guillermo del Toro has slammed Warner Bros over the censorship of Ken Russell classic The Devils.

The filmmaker has criticised the continuing failure to release the 1971 movie in the UK market.

"There are powers that be at Warner Bros that refuse to allow the movie to be seen," del Toro told a master class Monday night in Toronto (via The Hollywood Reporter).

The film starred Oliver Reed, Vanessa Redgrave, Dudley Sutton, Michael Gothard and Gemma Jones.

It was based on Aldous Huxley's The Devils of Loudun, the story of a corrupt priest (Reed) who is brought low by the accusations of a maddened mother superior (Redgrave).

"The movie has been seen very little. It can only be shown in its entirety in England if it's booked as an educational experience," said del Toro.

"It's not an accident. It's not because of lack of demand. It's a true act of censorship."

Shame on WB for their actions.
