RUSSELL DAY-LONG on a STELVIO NTX
« on: February 17, 2015, 05:02:58 PM »
At 32 inches I didn't know I was inseam challenged until I got my Stelvio.  It's tippy toes for me with the seat at it's low position.  But it looks like a Russell is not viable for me since Russell says that the Day-Long will add 1.5 to 2 inches to the stock seat height.  Does anybody with a Russell on their Stelvio have an inseam less than 34 inches?

32" for me too.

I lowered the suspension on the Stelvio 1" after I put on the Russell Day-Long seat, and it all fits just fine now .....

32" here with the RDL in the low position...I just slide fwd when I come to a stop.  Peddling back out of a parking spot is no fun but not impossible.  The tradeoff for comfort is worth the added height.  No, it's not 2" higher...maybe 1".

With 32 inches, you should be fine.  As Pyoung says, the Russell has a pocket up front that is narrow and allows better ground reach.  When you are in the woods or not wanting to spill Momma off the back, slide up in the pocket and you should have good purchase on the ground. When broken-in, they probably add about an inch.

I need to bill Russell for a commission since I'm always touting their seats!

LANNIS:

I get sliding the forks up in the front, but how did you lower the rear suspension?
