wow, its so calm, so measured, so precise, so quiet...

Mandello was a shade more chaotic when I was there.

National stereotypes apply, it seems.

we could never do that in england...

here's the meriden triumph factory just before it closed if anyone's interested

and a great documentary

and that's not a hammer, its a rubber mallet!

Good stuff , thanks guys  :)

Oh , those workers at the Meriden plant don't look or sound like a bunch of radical troublemakers that would stage a sit in and then a hostile take over of an English factory  ;D

Triumph factory is actually making the parts.
BMW factory is just assembling parts hence so quiet.
and that's not a hammer, nor is it a rubber mallet.
Its a nylon mallet.

To be more specific, it looks like a dead blow mallet with nylon heads from PB Swiss  ;D

Good lord, it's no wonder BMWs are so boring, they are conceived in the dull drums.

Ahh winter. The time to discuss the subtle differences between a hammer a rubber mallet and a nylon dead blow. I'll add the sand filled dead blow to the discussion.

That BMW video is interesting.  Yeah, that place is slightly more sophisticated than what I saw in Mandello del Lario!

Thanks for posting the BMW factory assembly operation.  From that I got to see the demise of the Meriden Triumph factory documentary among other brand factory assembly lines on U-tube.  8)

Maybe the way they operate(never been there).  Both are/were union but MG has the backing of Italy Govt.  to keep them operating.  Probably the only reason they still are.
