Long term tire report
« on: April 29, 2015, 09:52:27 AM »
Kenda Challenger.
Rear tire on the Lario.  Because of the weird tire sizing of the Lario, (120-90/16) there are very few tires that fit those specs. Thought I’d give em a try, after all, they’re cheap. (Small block content)  ;D
I put it on to match up with the front Sport Demon. There’s not a rear to match from Pirelli, and I wanted to keep the same sidewall height in the rear. Having the tail low on a small block is *not* a good thing. The transmission pukes fluid out the breather, and fifth gear suffers.

They say,
Sport cruiser/ touring (whatever that is)
Outstanding directional stability (uhh, ok, never had a problem.)
Excellent wet weather traction (never had the opportunity)
High mileage compound (ummm..)
I say,
They speak with forked tongue.  ;)
When I first put them on, they were fine, and I thought a pretty good match for the front SD.
Ran 1000 miles in the mountains, had a really good time, and was pretty happy with it.
Then, it got seriously flat spotted here in flyover country. So much for the high mileage compound. It is at a point now that it is easy to slide in corners at considerably less than knee dragging speeds.
Total mileage 4453, and it’s toast. I won’t be getting another.
