Wow!!! They could teach the men's team a little somethin'... They dominated and shut down a powerful Japanese team... of course, at this level of play any of the top teams can win depending on how they feel and which way the wind is blowin'

+1.  Instead of the best acting awards we were treated to players helping the other team up.  I can't stand to see the super rich lying on the ground holding their ankle then running full speed when they don't get the call.  Amazing healing properties?  Not!

I watched a few of the matches on TV, and at the risk of flames, I was really unimpressed with the quality of play. England loses to Japan on an own-goal, then in yesterday's final the USA commits an own-goal, and that sloppy, crazy miss by the Japanese goalkeeper in the 16th minute--it just made me go Hmmm.

That said: congratulations! Anything is better than watching baseball.

I loved the 4th goal where Carli Llyod booted over the goalie's head from midfield. I didn't know that was possible. 

It was an enjoyable game to watch.  No acting on the women's side.  Good officiating.  Japan continued to fight and play well. The definitely didn't give up.

A really fabulous game. I didn't miss a minute of it. The girls team has always been more fun to watch than the men. The drama queens of men's soccer and much of professional sports is really off-putting.

Great game, awesome first 20 minutes!

The USA won the coin toss and put the Japanese on the side with the sun in their eyes for the first half.  That did play a role in at least two of the goals.

The midfield goal was one of those situations where you notice the goalkeeper way off of her goal line, so you give it a wallop and hope for the best.  Yes, they do practice that exact shot.

The women DO flop sometimes to get a call, but not as much as the men.

But I still prefer the men's game, and my Seattle Sounders.  Also, the North American Gold Cup starts this week.

I have watched almost every match...never miss a World Cup match after the group stage.  I think the USWNT the last three matches extremely well.  That is why they are world champions again.  Jill Ellis is obviously the right coach.  Jurgen Klinsman has done much with the US TeamThe recent 4-0 victory over Guatemala shows just  how tough they are...no diving there either.  Have to disagree with segesta

I had hoped for a tight and exciting game, preferably a thriller with some high drama towards the end, and was prepared to sit up until 3 am my time to watch the final.
Then 2-0 after less than 10 minutes took some, and 4-0 after less than 20 took the rest of the excitement......
Those US girls were extremely impressive!

Was glad they won, but really angry at Fox News for usurping an account of Butch Cassidy's mis-deeds to show the after game celebration. Had I been that interested I would have watched the game ??????
