I'm using it, Steve. You can buy it at NAPA. Very reasonably priced.

They also have a racing version that may contain extra zinc.

As per the US rep all Racing versions are pure ester synyth for 8V bikes

We have it at the shop I work at, they put it in the German cars. We also had the eni 10W60 but they quit reordering it. Still have all the other eni oils.

I was just curious if the guys using it 3yrs ago are still using it. Thanks

I will only run ENI 10/60 in my Griso, but I put the Liqui Moly 10/60 (http://www.amazon.com/Liqui-Moly-2024-Synthoil-10W-60/dp/B00CPL918E) in my Norge before the run to Swanzey.

2K or so later, still looks very good, but had to add a bit.

Intend to R&R with same stuff sooner than later.

As I read the specs, it is fully compliant with Guzzi requirements, but I would not put it in an 8v under warranty.

To get the full benefit of the liquid moly for air cooled (SG/moto) you really should use the 4T 10W60 which has extra phosphorus and zinc.

The DLC coating on 8V tappets may have a problem with high quantities of certain additives. ZDDP is one of them.

It's not 100% certain there's an issue with ZDDP but DLC is strange stuff. You can pretty much run it against itself with next to no lubrication at all! The 8V cams are interesting too. They are definitely ferrous but whatever their finish is its not like a *Normal* camshaft.

I too was surprised about the possibility of certain anti wear additives being detrimental. Only found that out comparatively recently. There is some fairly odd physics and chemistry at work there!

I use Liquimoly, it's by far the easiest form of 10W60 to get ahold of since NAPA autoparts is only 5 minutes from me.

Haven't used LiquiMoly but have used both Motorex and Motul in our modern Guzzis. Recently started using Motul 4T 7100 10W60 and it is very, very nice. Both Nevada and 1200 Sport seem to love it. Motul is zee French motor oil that eees red and smells like zeee soap!! Those French!! And then I ask myself zeee question, "why does motor oil have to smell like motor oil"? Better to smell like zeee soap no? Very, very nice!!!

Yes, Motul 7100 4T is a beautiful color of red and does not smell at all like motor oil. Smells like shampoo. Haven't tried to taste it and probably won't. It's a bit cheaper than Motorex which is why I thought I would give it a go. About 13 bucks per liter versus 16-17. Why did it take all these years for someone to figure out that motor oil does not have to smell bad?

Conventional motor oil smells good to me. It brings back lots of memories every time I smell it, whether it's new or used.
