Washburn MO update for weather Sat 7 Nov.  The rain chance predicted for zero on Sat and only 20% for Sun.   However the temps are 59/36 and 56/39 respectively.  Hope this helps in your planning,  anyway we're ready here for your visit.

Yep Doug if the weather cooperates, we'd better just tuff it out. Wouldn't be the cowboy way, 'ya know :boozing:

Breaker breaker, come in Wes, I came by to shake your hand today, sorry you weren't home. I didn't know you were a lady bug rancher. That's the biggest herd I ever laid eyes on.

I hung out with you're guard mocking bird for a minute or two and rode back home.

Nice place :thumb:

If the soybeans are off the fields that is most likely a soybean beetle, no place to go now.

Mostly pasture, poultry and rocks in the Washburn area. Not a lot of beans.

Hey Guzziasta J.  Sorry I wasn't home,  the lady bug invasion this week worse that the fuzzy web worms were last week.  As for the guard mockin bird,  you was luck the squadron of chipmunk ground squirrels didn't attack.   Nice picture,  and I should have had a sign up with an arrow down the hill to the campsight location.

ps, coleman camp stove and lantern ops checked today.  That's military lingo for "works okay".

Wes, I saw the trail down the hill but I didn't ride down there, not in the habit of wandering around on folks land unless I'm invited. Kind of a "do unto others" kinda thing 'ya know. But you sure have a nice place!

My son reminded me of the 0 degree bag I bought him for his Philmont NM, trek.  Packs small in a compression bag.  Re coffee, I'm not a snob about it and drink Folgers daily.  Can't stand instant but discovered on a recent camping trip that those Starbux single pouches are a great packable substitute for carrying a percolator, loose coffee, etc.

Got to see what's left of my gear after son took it to New Mexico.  Got most of the stench out after their 10-day trek.

Hi to all:   Washburn weather forecast for weekend has improved a tic (60/37 and 58/40) and slight chance for rain on Sun is PM.  Lookin better all the time.  As for Coffee,  The 2 burner coleman stove and 2 percolater pots should do it.  I'll even have some creamer stuff and sugar for non cowboy types.  Might bring your cups though.  Wife is fussy about hers.    Please call me for any questions/requests by Friday and I'll get whatever you need and have it at the campsite.  417 826 1945

That's a powder keg crew right there!  I'm guessing that coffee is going to taste good no matter what method is used!  Have fun guys...can't make it to this one...but it sounds like a fun one!

Campsite report: We got 6 tenths rain yesterday but full sun today and tomorrow should dry the ground some and tent pegs will go in better.  Weather report for zip 65772 is Washburn.  We're ready at this end.

Rains just finished here in Memphis this morning.  Packing gear tonight.  It's probably a 6 hour ride the way I'm coming so I'm shooting for 3-4pm.  No schedule though.  Sunday morning I'm thinking about heading to Jefferson City and ride the bluffs to Washington, the Corn Cob pipe capital of the world.  Also need to bring the wife a bottle of Missouri wine.

Undecided about bringing a tent, just a tarp and sleeping bag.  Snoring keeps snakes and skunks away, right?
