Do you think 0% chance of rain is safe enough for you and I to be there at the same time?

Funny Doug, 0% + you and me together  = toad strangler   I think we'll be ok this time. The odds are in our favor :thumb:

Rains just finished here in Memphis this morning.  Packing gear tonight.  It's probably a 6 hour ride the way I'm coming so I'm shooting for 3-4pm.  No schedule though.  Sunday morning I'm thinking about heading to Jefferson City and ride the bluffs to Washington, the Corn Cob pipe capital of the world.  Also need to bring the wife a bottle of Missouri wine.

Undecided about bringing a tent, just a tarp and sleeping bag.  Snoring keeps snakes and skunks away, right?

Tobit

I'm a life long Missourian and I've been to Washington many times but I had no idea it was the corn cob pipe Capitol of the world. Sheesh, is there an end to the vast amounts of knowledge here in the world of Wild guzzi?

Kind of like folks in Mississippi towns never know about the famous blues musician that is from their little burg . Speaking of which , are you bringing some Allman Bros , or maybe some mountain music ?

SHo-nuf Podna, I'll bring the infamous Cedar Vale sound system. A little Statesboro Blues at the campfire sounds good. Although it'll be hard to top the acoustics of the CV barn.

Maybe the bluffs will provide some acoustics . I have a craving for some ARA , the "cowboy song" and third rate romance , and possibly This ol' cowboy by MTB .

Ok, if I can resolve ARA into the Amazing Rhythm Aces I'm just freaking old.  How about Mississippi Queen, Humble Pie or Jimmie Vaughan?  I might even dig up a little John Fogerty or Crazy Horse.

No promises.

Ok, now for the bad news.  Dont know where I got turned around but I ended up in Branson and got GPS'd down every country road, 76, 160, etc.  Don't like dark , winding, unfamiliar two lane after riding all day.  Motelling it somewhere around Cassville.  Bummer but more chili for you guys.  Cel phones don't work here either.  What is this place?  I might be right on top of you guys but maybe I'll find you in the morning.

Btw. The rental Street Glide is awesome but my LeMans IV has better suspension and didn't cost $20k.

Cheers,

Tobit

P.S.  Real bummer is I have a few Rocky Patels that will have to wait for tomorrow.

Thank you Wes for being such a great host! We had a nice time, good company, good campfire and some outstanding chili thanks to Doug, he's the best camp cook ever. Sorry you missed it Tobit, we were looking foreword to meeting you but I'm glad to hear you're OK. Man, at Cassville you were so, so close.

Thanks to everyone that made this a great little campout!

What a great place Wes has , and we had a great time . 170 miles home today , all but about 20 were nice twisties , no close encounters with large fauna , only a tiny kitten yesterday , and a friendly dog today , both only required slight adjustment in speed and trajectory  :bike-037:

Anyone remember the Gilligan's Island character "Wrong Way Feldman" played by Hans Conried?  Guess I should change my forum name.

After getting lost on Saturday I rode down 90 half awake Sunday morning and may have seen the right mailbox and numbers but each time by there was a vehicle pulling out or behind me.

Looks like I missed a good campout.

Upside is I'm really impressed with the Street Glide, all except the suspension which should be a LOT better.  I'll post about it.

Back in Memphis today, I have the SG till this afternoon so I'm going to meander into Mississippi today.

Regards,

Wrong Way Tobit
