I rode Yamahas for 20 years before I got my 1st Guzzi 30+ years ago. But I have multiple brand rigs now and like them all.  What really keeps me around Guzzis is their riders more than the bike.

Triumph Trophy. Triumph appears to be producing well performing and very reliable bikes plus the dealer would only be 40 miles away.

This bike is still under warranty, so it actually has been my main ride lately; will be until the warranty is up. However, though it has been a good sport-tourer, I generally enjoy riding the Norge a bit more.

I'd probably stayed with UJB.

I was looking for a cheap touring bike so Bev and I could ride and found a nice California.  I was non plussed with Beemers I rode and found nothing I wanted in a Harley for Beemer money.   Then I went to a rally and a few lunches and really like the EV,  And I saw a Greenie at rally and there it was.  I like the people and the bikes.

Otherwise probably a used Vulcan or Boulevard or something.  But I was too cheap and found a Guzzi and community of tightwads like me.

GliderJohn
Right now, I own a 2013 Triumph Trophy SE and four other bikes. I do NOT yet own a Moto Guzzi but I expect to buy a 2016 Stelvio before the end of this year. My favorite bike is the TTSE. Best bike I have ever owned.

I did a test ride on a Stelvio already. It seemed a bit Hareyish to me with the low freq vibrations. But I like my many bikes to feel different than the others. But if I were to only have one bike, it would be the TTSE.

My other four  bikes are:

1971 BMW R75/5
1984 Yamaha Venture
2002 Suzuki DR200SE
2016 Kawasaki Versy 650 LT

Here in Reno, Freedom Cycles, where I purchased my TTSE, also sells Moto Guzzi and so my Stelvio will come from the same place as my TTSE.

It's amazing how much I like the looks of a Harley that doesn't have Harley styling.  My favorite is this one:

I agree with you! If the Buells had more classic lines and styling, I think I would have one in the garage.

I like Kev's logic on the HD XR1200 series, but I find the exhaust treatments just don't work for me,,, and the peanut sized tanks, make no sense at all.

I really like the lines and exhaust treatment on this chrome tanked bike,,, although I probably would like the colors a bit more subdued and classier in a matt black or forest green/wine red with black pipes.

For myself, my DR650 will always have a place in the garage,,, love big singles,,, if I could find a Yamaha SRX I'd own it,,, but they just don't scratch the big road bike itch,,, a big road bike is a much tougher choice for me,,, if the exhaust note wasn't so ordinary, probably a BMW airhead in something like an R90 or R100 s style or a modified HD similar to the one in the picture.

Another vote for Ducati, in fact (maybe I shouldn't say this here) my main ride is Ducati, two of them in fact.  :embarrassed:

I really like my Lemans though and will use it more now that I've got it sorted, and I have coveted the Lemans since the '70s.

Here are mine;

Ducati 916
Ducati M900

Indian Scout. Great fun.

If I didn't have that I might make one of those Sportster sport bikes, they look cool.
