Are automatics the norm in the US?Here in the UK, manual stick shifts are much more common. I drive an auto, because I inherited it, but I wouldn't choose one. I'd always prefer a manual shift. If autos are the norm in the U.S. I wonder why that is? Bigger, longer roads, perhaps?
yes. I think the Accord is the only family sedan available with a stick (4 cyl only) here.
I really cannot understand the long term obsession some people have with large cars.
I now have a large car for comfort. Before we moved, I had a small car. (I almost got a Fiat 500.) It was great fun to drive for short distances. However, it was noisy, stiff, and uncomfortable on long trips.My commute to my office is now 150 miles each way. When I go to my office (usually just once a week), I want speed, comfort, peace, and quiet.
