@ Charlie B
As I understand it they only tested 8 models, so only that one Shoei model.

So...what makes an $800 German helmet better than a $300 helmet for the average rider who buys a new helmet every 5 years?

On the DOT sticker, at the land speed racing tracks, a DOT sticker is meaningless, only helmets with the latest Snell or European equivalent rating are accepted...

Depends on what you want.  I wanted a modular that had a built in face shield was quiet, light and comfortable.  The Schuberth was the only one that fit those criteria.

I tried on all the other modulars and most I could not wear for more than a few minutes or they were noticeably heavy.

That's what made it a better helmet.  No, it does not protect the head better.

F Y I   this site is crap , i thought to order a Schuberth clear visor and some small locking levers from the for my C3  $38.00 i thought it was worth the risk and the price was great.

after 6 weeks I advised my bank that the product did not show up and they credited my Visa account , so i am not out of pocket.

2 weeks later in the post a package arrived surprisingly .....  in the severely damaged  box was a cheap tinted visor for some other brand and no parts ...
i threw it into the bin and am done with it ...
so stay away and remember that there is no free lunch

What's the latest from the brave souls who send funds to this site?  Anyone cruising with a new Schuberth?

the local Beemer shop had S3 Shuberts for 1/3 off, like $400-$500 range on black Friday.  Duc red.  You might call the OKC Beemer store and see if they are still discounted.

I tried one on and thought they were light and comfy.  I would have considered one but but have a Shoei mod already.
