Title: Minimal pannier racks for V7II?
Post by: yourfavorite on May 03, 2015, 05:34:18 PM
I'm interested in something more like this (but in black) for a V7II to use with some sort of soft panniers. Most of what I've seen and found recommended on here is a big rectangle that sticks out quite a bit. I'd like something more minimal that won't affect the look of the bike much when the panniers aren't on it. Any suggestions?

Maybe the Hepco - Becker C mount?

Thanks for the suggestion, will add it to my list. I think with soft bags though my concern is that they might get bumped into the wheels while riding. Since the C mount doesn't extend down very far I worry that it might not be what I'm looking for.

I've fitted the c-bows to my v7 with H&B Nevada leather bags, they look good and the bags are really easy to attach & remove with one key. They and the mounts are completely unobtrusive.

If you're looking for "minimal", Hepco Becker C-Bow is the way to go.  They make a variety of soft and semi-ridged bags that pop on and off with the turn of a key.

Cam -- I'm sure you've got some pics of your beautiful V7 Special with the C-mounts on it.

Here are the C-mounts on my V7R.   Obviously, with just the C-mounts and no rear rack, the rear of bike would look very tidy.    I need a top case for commuting.
I use these same bags on my Ducati Monster 796 as well.   They look good on it too.

The rear rack on the V7R is the Hepco & Becker one.
It was originally chrome on my V7C.    I had it powder coated black to put on the V7R.
They now sell them in black.
