That makes for good thermals.
If it's too hot to ride, go soaring.
-
it's 95 here, I just mowed the lawn since it'll be raining tomorrow. I'd rather mow in the heat, afternoon sun, some wind than high 80s and humidity.
-
103? Yeah.. that's too dang hot. AridZona with 10% humidity? Pftttt. no big deal.
I was at an airshow in Dayton, and one of the guys was dying. One of those sissy Arizona guys. "I've seen 115 lots of times, but this 90s and humid is killing me. I've gotta find some air conditioning.."

It has been 100* here everyday for the last 3 days. It seldom gets quite that hot here. Luckily it didn't get that hot for the Susanville Rally.

When I got up Saturday morning it was 56 degrees. I think it got up to 79 that day.
However when I got off the mountain going home to Winston Salem the trucks ambient temperature reading was 95 degrees F.

I didn't know there were any mountains in the South that had the elevation to drastically effect temperature, Big Dan. That sounds pretty nice.
-
At least you don't have to shovel it.

Sure are some high mountains LR.
Mt Mitchel is just shy of 7,000 feet. My river house is at 2700’ elevation and 140’ from the river which is now around 65 degrees F.
You are welcome to come and take a dip anytime 🥶

Summer sucks. Set my compass North
I got winter in my blood

Denver is at 5000 ft and already been to 100 degrees. I'm at 1200 ft and highest point in the state is 5000 ft and hotter than here.

Hi All, 6-21-21
It's funny, but people often talk about "snow birds"...folks who head South for the Winter. We have "sun birds" up here in the Adirondack mountains in upper NYS. Seventeen hundred to twenty four hundred foot elevations, Northern latitude, lakes, rivers, etc. I feel blessed to live in both. (NC and NYS).
Be well, stay well,

I rode yesterday, it was in the 90's so I stuck to the county backroads. Found a new cemetery pavilion near Seymour, Mo. with good shade to have some water and enjoy the breeze. Yea, it's hot, but I had to get outside and I can't stay off this bike!

JJ's the only one with anything like what we're living with in the Mojave - the low is around 88, and the highs have been 113-118. It should stay that way till September...

I would love 30% humidity. How do you maintain 57% humidity indoors?
-
53 degrees here this morning in the big, booming metropolis of Villa Ridge, Missouri

A group of us rode our Vespas up to Payson last Saturday. The temp was only 102°, which was wonderful. Coming back into the Valley was like standing naked in front of a glory hole (glass furnace). I think officially it reached 116°, but on the tarmac, it's around 50° hotter. It's no joke.
