Brakes - LM3

Changing out the front brake pads of my LM3.  Had a devil of a time getting the pins out.  After cleaning them up a bit, should I apply a very light coat of anti seize or some grease to make the job easier next time?

I've done that - not sure if it's kosher - but the brakes still work as they should. I've thought of making stainless copies and just might one of these times.

I would probably replace the pins with new ones.  The new ones have a black anodize coating which should hold up better than the old zinc plated units.  At $8 a set I would say they would be worth it.  Of course this assumes that you have the old zinc plated version.

Applying a - very light - coating of grease to the caliper pins also has the benefit of helping to insure that the pads slide on the pins evenly as intended, avoiding asymmetric wear and potential freeze-up.

Thanks everyone.  I took a wire brush and cleaned them up and then applied a very light coating of anti seize.  They slid right in.
