Norge Egg Hatching in Dahlonega
« on: March 18, 2015, 09:16:25 PM »
David Williams of European Motorsports (Riders Hill) sent me these pix of my brother’s Norge just moments after the stork aquila … OK, truck delivered it this afternoon and Ian cracked the shell.

Michael takes delivery on Saturday.   :D

Looking forward to seeing the hand-off.  And, maybe, just maybe, a ride.   ;)

That would be CICOGNA = stork.  And, yes, Guzzi did make one.

Hey Bill, would you recommend these guys for service work? There's really no one in Florida I can count on for service on modern Guzzi's, and Riders Hill would be a good ride up.

Absolutely beautiful.  Black is my weakness. I am so envious.

BUT... I might actually choose the Norge in Po-leese White   P:)  just so I could get a fear response from the cagers.

NICE!

I know these things are just material possessions.

But as material things go, is there anything more joyous than a new motorcycle?

Yes, first ride on some old "barn find" that you've rescued and put back into roadworthy condition with your own two hands.  ;) YMMV.

OK, accepted.

I could almost argue that's a NEW motorcycle too at that point, regardless of some "old" components.  ;)  ;-T

Whatever color it is, it looks like a lot of fun.    Bill, looking for some "family ride reports" this summer!

The pictures don't really show the color that well, but I think it is called "root beer"...

And there's nothing wrong with that. Root beer is one of my favorite drinks, er, colors...

I wonder if the dealers couldn't get the owner involved in un-crating and setting up a new bike, especially one that's been special ordered,
it would be a good bonding experience and give the owner a chance to ask any questions they might not normally think of.

Hey Bill, would you recommend these guys for service work? There's really no one in Florida I can count on for service on modern Guzzi's, and Riders Hill would be a good ride up.

Why do you say this?  Do you not know that there are SIX authorized Moto Guzzi Dealers in Florida?  Surely one of them must be near you.  Is that one to be avoided?

If you're willing to ride to North Georgia, why not Miami?  The guys at Unique Superbikes seem to know that they are doing.

That's a great idea.  If I'm ever lucky enough to order a new bike, I would much appreciate that orientation.

I agree, but I think the concern of the dealers would be the increased time that this would take, as time = money.  However, if a dealer were to offer me an opportunity to have an orientation and participate in the un-crating for, say, an extra $100, I would definitely take advantage.  The only other issue might be if the dealer is not confident in their staff, so they wouldn't want things done under the supervision of a customer.  I would like to hope that this wouldn't be the case with most dealers, but I'm sure it would be with some.

Cheers,
Shaun
