Centauro tires. I'm in illinois so I don't need canyon carvers I need high mileage over grip, but like something that will be good in rain. 160 60 17 and 120 70 17. avons have finally worn out and if I'm keeping the bike I might as well buy it some new shoes. What's the current recommendation for a sport tourer? Brand and vendor would be great.

I am sold on Avons. I use the Storm Ultra that have the absolute best wet grip and feel on the front and no slippage at the back. What model Avons were on the Centauro? If they were the old Azarro line, they were good but the Storms replaced those and wow, major upgrade. I ran Azarros on the Sport 1100.

I would highly round black ones. ;) Glad I could help, it is what I do Jim. :P :winer

yep the AV 45 and 46 Azarro's. They lasted a long time even with a slow leak on a plug in the back. Considering they lasted about 6 years, I guess spending a few extra bucks is worth it. maybe i'll get out more with new tires. :)

Back when I had the Centauro, I planned to buy Continental "Conti Motion" tires for it. $140 a pair.
