Checking, adding air in a Griso & OEM exhaust mods?
« on: February 27, 2019, 02:20:56 PM »
What a pain! I thought it was bad on an '11 Ultra. Any 90 degree schrader valve extensions available that won't leak or hit the calipers? I have a pair but are too long. Worse ever in my experience.
Has anyone done anything diferent that makes it easier?
Anyone try opening oem silencers to increase tone/ re-map? Thanks

I use an inexpensive TPMS ($65). Made life easier for me.

Running the stock cannon and mini-me
also stock map(so far) so no help there.

My bike has a 90 degree stem on the front, but I bought it used and I guess I don't any better.

The Griso won't like you opening up the can performance wise so if you do it a re-map would be in order.  Most folks have gone the route of a slip-on but maybe you can find something here.

Are you looking extensions that go on the existing valve stems? What is the "worst ever experience" the extension being too long?

Because I have several vehicles and most are different valve stem setups and they all want to make my knuckles bleed I've gone to this system.  90 degree dual foot chuck, 1/8" schrader valve and a clip on air hose. No more loss of blood  I also have gone to the 90 degree valves when I've changed tires on the bikes

     Hope this helps

I've done the same thing at home, and fitted one to my compressor.  I don't like or trust the ones at gas stations for accuracy.

I used to carry a 90° adapter for emergencies, but don't bother any more.

'17 Griso is worse ever checking/adding air 66 bikes.Minimal spacing for gauge, chuck, fingers.
Not that intent on modifying xhaust. Just curious. Enjoying the rest of the bike in 38 miles since buying it the middle of winter & a wifes hysterectomy.
Thanks😃

As far as the exhaust issue, I may have some information I learned the hard way. After making several map adjustments to attempt to stop the deceleration popping, with no progress, one of the guys here advised me to check for a possible loose header pipe clamp. I had a CalVin at the time which had a Minstrel H-pipe. Sure enough I found a loose clamp. However there was no sound coming out from there. I tighten the clamp and re tighten the rest. No more deceleration popping. My theory after that is just a small change in back pressure can cause a change in the way the bike runs even if very ninute. I will stand corrected by some of the more knowledgeable guys here.

Leave the OEM silencer alone and replace it with a slip-on can. Go to the Griso ghetto forum and learn how to load the maps available there.
It is a well worn path and cannot be beaten no matter how much time and money is spent elsewhere.
