Running In V7 850 & manuals

Hi, I’ve seen a few posts saying that the manual lists 4500 rpm for the first 1000 miles for the break-in period,  I’ve read the manual, I mean the paper one called “use+maintenance” (pic below) I got with the bike and can’t find anything about it.

I also can’t find the details for the dashboard, what the codes for the fuel gauge mean, how to turn off the shift warning lights etc…

I can’t find either in the manual I download  “SERVICE STATION MANUAL 2Q000466” which has all the parts diagrams etc.

Am I missing a manual and is the above correct for running in?

The paper manual is the summarised one. If you go to the manuals.motoguzzi.c om you can download the full manual. Save it in your kindle, iBooks etc so you have it with you always. Even then they bury it on page 75.

It’s 4500 rpm for the first 932.06 miles (1500km).

Actually, try the bottom of page 65 in the paper manual. Mine also has the running in info there.

I turned off the RPM warning right away.  I think by this stage of life I know how to treat an engine during break in.  Since these engines really don't enjoy themselves much below 4,000 rpm the initial limit is quite severe.  As long as you are not thrashing the daylights out of it too early you will be fine.

Yeah it took me a few attempts to figure it out  . Having had to reset the clock a few times is a good primer . Right now shift light is set for 6800 RPM .

It's all (or mostly) about cylinder pressure, which has a difficult time developing following factory methods.  IMHO.
