Title: My Norge lives!
Post by: fotoguzzi on March 21, 2023, 07:37:18 PM
Finally got her started after new pistons, rings and refreshed heads.. don’t mind the smoke that’s just assembly lube and oil in the barrels, I hope🙂
Those of you who remember the saga might notice the start button on the handlebar now works!

Dog got a snoutfull, don't know what to think of that bike.  Congrats, it ought to get better the longer you ride it. Sync the TB's before heading too far.

Very satisfying to see your work work. Great looking bike and also great looking dog. My favorite post in a while.

That's cool. And the switch fixed itself too.

Nice to see we can still get parts for these beauties.

What did you do about the start button?

I wired up a aux button, see the saga here,

Funny tho, when I got it all back together the button on the bar worked fine. I still have the six button in case that fails.
Bike starts now but runs rough and won’t idle. No faults observed by Guzzidiag.
I guess I’ll have to go thru the throttle bodies for sync. I’ll start by cleaning out the air bleed screws and try to balance the TB’s .. I’ve not done that on a carc bike, I guess I can figure it out. I hope the sacred screw wasn’t touched by the previous owner. The throttle stop screw “looks” to be screwed very far in already but idle is low. What’s the process for setting the TPS on a carc bike?

Great to see it coming along!

Guzzidiag is what’s needed to set TPS electronically, luckily easier to do than on the V11 which is mechanically set using a voltmeter.  Once running Guzzidiag is used also to reset the learning parameters.  It could also need a map, but perhaps checking all the hoses are connected properly, breather tubes connected, and perhaps fresh gas?
