« on: July 22, 2015, 10:39:53 AM »
A bit of help please...I am going to change my alt. belt on the Norge at about 42000 miles.what is the trick for setting the tension without the factory tool? I seem to remember Vasco saying the tension tool was not needed but only slightly remember how to test, can't twist the belt to 90 degrees? Thanks all...OK first time I have had search work ! I found several threads,so Bob's your Uncle...

That's basically it. Hold the belt in the middle of its run and twist it. See if you can find someone local familiar with tensioning belts. It's not rocket science. You want it tight enough not to slip but not so tight it will damage the bearings.
