Most of the work was done at Dave's Cycle Circus, in mesa.
I worked there, and Lance was a guzzi rep., but worked part time for Dave, to fund his racing habit.

When did you work there?  I bought my '93 Daytona 1000 from him and Kathy in '94.  I lived in Mesa till '80.

Y'ep.  They came out here on a cruise ship, spent lunch time with them.  Last time I was out in Queen Creek, Dave let me drive his Mini Cooper.

The bike is coming along, Dave saw it and wants to take her out for another ride when she's done! Hell ya that's going to happen! Too cool!

FYI, that is NOT how the exhaust will be routed.

That's coming together really well, thanks for updating. Those triple clamps are be-you-T-FULL.

The exhaust looks great how you have it - maybe you should just buy some heat-proof boots.

Are you repainting the tank too?  I'd ride it around like that but not my bike.

Mock up for the Stucchi LeMans fairing is set up and the exhaust is next to be built.  There is a long way to go, but it is starting to look like a bike.

Thanks Dusty, but It's not too bad when you buy that ex-racebike from the man who built and raced it, and his son is heavily involved in building it again . I could not do this by myself and ever hope to ride it .

Dave was racing this bike when I met him at his dealership when I was enrolling in college. He's the reason my first bike was a Guzzi.
He thought I would do something cool with it and he wanted his storage container cleaned out.

Hi Turin
Thanks for sharing your project. I love the Stucchi fairing, how did you come across it?

Seeing that you are not aiming for a concours restoration, aesthetically a 1100 Sport carb fuel tank might be the icing on the cake? Surely you have one in your cornucopia of parts (envious of your workspace)

Cheers
Jason

Not my workspace, I've got a little two car garage ( which I'm grateful for btw) The build is happening at the local Ducati builders shop. His dad raced it back in the day (so did he a couple of times). I bring the parts and, he makes it work. The original tank will be mildly modified and go on the bike. Right now it's getting wired.

What size FCRs are those and what throttle and cables are you using.  I'm considering using those on my LM5

FCR 41's. Sudco and Power Barn sell a kit for the 1100 sport.

I went his route because:
A - this engine was modified with a big bore kit and racing cam and other fun stuff, I figure racing carbs are appropriate.
B- there were no carbs included when I brought home my giant basket case. I'd have went with Del'lortos if I had a set.

The left side carb linkage has issues clearing the tank so the tank is going to need a slight recess. Left side air filter will get squished by the frame.
