« on: March 28, 2019, 03:25:36 AM »

my transport, nowhere special, doing its thing....

clock is just about to turn over from 99,999 to 00,000

thought i'd celebrate by sharing

1970 V7 special

some mods

front wheel with disc brakes from Cali vintage

one off front forks made from a Cali/Breva mash-up of parts

police fairing and bars, new switchgear

greg bender's relays

deep spline clutch hub from guzzi pirner

Thank you for sharing your photos. It is so nice to see that others on this site still use their old Guzzi as a regular ride.    :bike-037:

Great bike. The brake mod is wonderful, my 74 with the 4LS brake could use this mod.

Great looking loop, I like how the bags look, and the front end  improvement is primo! Congratulations.
Here are a couple pics of my 73, taken a few days ago, in historic Bisbee Arizona.

Last summer at the KS rally for the first time there were no loops, my T-3 was the oldest bike. Guess they are thinning out more each year.

I read this and I am appreciative of the history that has been accumulated over nearly 50 years of ownership.
I am tempted to compare this with the likes of IT Sec’s bike which has a monstrous amount of k’s, about 2 1/2 times the Ambo.
That does in no way underrate the achievement of the mighty Ambassador, but must crank the focus around a bit in the interests of perspective.
Does 250,000 k in 11 years, measure up to 100,000 k in 50 years ?

A great old battleship, what's it like to ride a loop with brakes?

My 72 is approaching 140,000 miles but had a major refresh.

a loop with brakes is absolutely fantastic!!!!

really really special

this is the slowest guzzi i've ever owned and by far my favourite

highway cruising at just shy of 80mph is possible and far more relaxing knowing that you can scrub off the speed in a hurry

I've owned this bike for 3 years and bought it with around 50,000 on the clock, so it's done half of those miles under modern conditions

hardest part of conversion was attempting to keep the beefy front forks look and keeping the original dash...

Bit of head scratching, bit of cutting, bit of welding, we got there

thanks for all the kind comments

Congratulations to the bike - - - and you!

I've the impression the Basque country would be wonderful for some slow riding (when it's not raining! )  -  hills, curves, mountains, valleys everywhere!
