Currently at $3600, plus the buyers premium. Right at the top of my buy in bid, as I would still need to ship it half way across the states.

With the cylinder situation unknown, I probably won’t be there at the 2 minute mark.

Agree that it's already at the top end of sensible... Especially if it's a pre-filter model.

Thats a nice looking 850 T, but the Emgo dunstall replica mufflers sure sound like—— and dont do that bike justice. IMHO.  I put a set on my Cal II some years ago, rode it around the block, and promptly removed them, to the scrap pile. With the proper exhaust, that bike should produce , a sweet, mellow sound, not that tinny harshness.

In the auction,  photo #45, the generator light indicator, is on, when the key is turned on.

However, on the cold start video, the key is turned on, and the generator light does not illuminated. Puzzled about this.

To bad it's not brown. dash housing is wrong...

I bought a '75 T in the eighties from the second owner. While he had made a few changes, most noticeably to lower handlebars, louder mufflers, and removed the turn signals! He said the rest of the bike was stock, at least it was when he bought it from the original owner. It was that BFU pong brown color, had been stored outside for years, so was rusty and faded. I painted it, in the 90's, not thinking about restoration, but just to improve the looks. Eventually put on wider, higher bars (from an old Triumph) and replaced the turn signals with after market ones. The black headlight and dash are stock as far as I know. I wouldn't mind getting $8K for mine, but I'd expect half that more likely, if I'm lucky!

Perhaps BaT auctions will finally drive the old Guzzi prices upward!! :thumb:

JJ,

Nothing really wrong with that, except every vehicle on BaT sells for crazy high prices. Whether it’s a survivor Pinto, or a crusty 911

Here's a couple from one of last falls rides, I was headed out to the "park" (Chena River Rec. Area) when I ran into a DOT crew patching a section of the Hot Springs RD. So I turned around and headed back, got these pics on the way home. Not great for fall colors, but at least they show both sides of the bike!

I didn’t think the sale price was outrageous given that the R100RS sold for over 12K. I should stop messing around with the SP and dig out my dusty / dirty / varnished carbed R100S for a good shine and sale. Sooner or later bidders are going to realize that airheads and even /2s were sold in pretty good quantities and are a bit of a yawner to ride.  Although very well engineered and nice looking from the right angles, they make sense as daily riders only to those who wrench themselves and don’t mind antiquated brakes, power and handling. Also, to really qualify as an airhead enthusiast, home beer brewing, baldness and residence in the CA,  WA or OR are helpful.  Fighting words I’m sure...

You could add AK to that list as there's a healthy contingent in Fairbanks, at least as healthy as geezers go. I'd guess the average age is close to sixty, but they don't all ride older BMWs. Haven't been to a meeting since the pestilence hit, but here's a pic from a few years back...

I was bidding on this, but capped my high bid at around $3500. I would also have a $250.minimum buyers premium, and shipping costs back to Pa. Plus, I would expect additional costs to refurb, like new mufflers etc.

Yes, I believe so!  I forget the guys name (??), but I know he was from New Mexico, outside Albuquerque.

Nice fellow, and I have talked to him several times at Datil....

And it was never clear if those were the original chrome bores so there would be another $1,000 bucks if you did it yourself.

I believe that's Pete Kraemer,  he used to be part of the  Colorado Springs  crew back when we hosted the National in 2009. Always on a different vintage Guzzi that looks showroom fresh!

Someone name Jack Jesse from Wisconsin claims to be the previous owner and he said the bike had chrome bores.
