I live in the west, and open spaces.. I could almost make it with one gas stop with the rotopax.. I upped the ft. gearing one tooth, and it's perfect at 70-75 MPH.. Wind is not a issues, and better than my Breva 1100 with the same bags,, It pulls hills in top gear a bit better then my 2016 Stonello
These Little KTM have a good Counter-balancer system, and are set to rev to 10,000 RPM
Being a Higher output single makes it take a hit on MPG when pushed too hard.. Meaning putting around gets about 75mpg, and pushing it out in the open can drop to 65 MPG Same route my 2017 XT-250 would get 88 MPG (Best) but 65 MPH max.. KLX-250S would get 75 town, and 55 pushed on the road.. I would get around 52 on the Breva, and 50 with my Touno 1000 second gen on the same loop.
I do have the KTM Power sport seat on it for a bit more padding, and height. 1/2 but makes a difference.
