Mini Sport tourer (NGC)
« on: May 19, 2022, 10:50:48 PM »
I always like a bit extra on my Street bikes for storage..(Gas too) The little 2017 Duke is no exception. I think it's a pint sized 1290 Super duke now..(single place) 390 Duke GT if you will. Added a simple programmer from a guy up in Wa. state. Works very well.

That bike looks like a barrel of fun. Well set up too. Sometimes I wonder why I put my heart and soul into 40+ year old bikes when a KTM single will just go go go.

I’ve seen a few of them @ rally’s set up similar along with other smaller displacement bikes from various Mfg.’s .Great to see Other & younger folks getting into the sport/hobby .A few year ago I downsized a bit & it was the right decision. Also it means someone younger than 50 getting “youngest rider” award  :thumb:

I live in the American West where distances between towns are great and speeds are high.  How would it serve on a 350+ mile ride at 75 mph?

I live in the west, and open spaces.. I could almost make it with one gas stop with the rotopax.. I upped the ft. gearing one tooth, and it's perfect at 70-75 MPH.. Wind is not a issues, and better than my Breva 1100 with the same bags,,  It pulls hills in top gear a bit better then my 2016 Stonello
These Little KTM have a good Counter-balancer system, and are set to rev to 10,000 RPM

Being a Higher output single makes it take a hit on MPG when pushed too hard.. Meaning putting around gets about 75mpg, and pushing it out in the open can drop to 65 MPG  Same route my 2017 XT-250 would get 88 MPG (Best) but 65 MPH max.. KLX-250S would get 75 town, and 55 pushed on the road.. I would get around 52 on the  Breva, and 50 with my Touno 1000 second gen on the same loop.

I do have the KTM Power sport seat on it for a bit more padding, and height. 1/2 but makes a difference.
