the first thing I do with a new Guzzi (after tightening the bolts) is to add a second pair...

I get that it is an April fools joke. I just think it would be neat to see. Probably should made it more obvious i understood.

I really kind of like it. It would be neat to see a real one. Wonder how hard it would be for Guzzi to do this?

Maybe you could talk Allen Millyard, in UK to build one; even though it makes no sense at all. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/motorbikes/11290917/Flying-Millyard-review.html   He makes it look as easy as you think it is.  R3~

While obviously an April fool, the best way to build a 4 cylinder bike like that would be to combine a bmw boxer and a Guzzi v twin. It would be like the upper 5 of an 8 cylinder radial minus the vertical cylinder, making it an "X-4".

The problem in one word: cooling.

It's not like Guzzi hasn't thought about building a v-four before.

I believe Henry Ford spent a lot of effort trying to perfect an X-8 before settling on his V8.

No advantage to a V4 for Moto Guzzi.  There is the proto-type in the museum at the factory.  Staying with the twin and spinning it faster worked better.
From the Deep Deep South out in left field.  There are no stupid questions.  There are however stupid people asking questions.  🤣, this includes me.  😉
