Expansion Chambers - Norge, Sport and Breva
« on: April 03, 2020, 03:47:54 PM »
Hi all.
I have a 2013 1200 Sport, obviously 8V.
I want to take out the exhaust expansion chamber and replace it with a crossover. The reason being that it produces so much heat that it causes my wife quite a bit of discomfort especially on her feet. So I'm figuring to replace it.
There's a guy here in Oz who does that sort of thing at a very reasonable price but hasn't done one for the big Guzzis.
Trouble is he's 1800klms from me but he can get access to a Breva to get the design right.

Now, is the expansion chamber / cat converter on the 1200 Breva the same as the one on the 1200 Sport??

They certainly LOOK the same, as does the one on the Norge, BUT they all have different part numbers.  As can be seen in the parts manuals.

What says the collective genius of WG?

Ok,  so I notice the Norge one doesn't have a O2 sensor fitted,  but looks identical to the others otherwise.

You can purchase an aftermarket crossover for a 1200 8v. Just google it, several choices available.

I know that Chad. But at twice the price, literally.
He's  Australian and I'd like to support local, and he's  one man band and does lovely work.

Larry, I replaced mine on the Breva 1100 years ago with one I obtained from Mario...a Mistral I think.
Raymond Massey:  "No doctor, I think this calls for something special.
I think, perhaps, the Melbourne Method!".

Peter Lorre:  "Not the Melbourne Method!!  Please!!"
