It looks like there will be a nice collection of vintage iron staying at The Largo Motel in Quemado.  A CX100, a LeMans 1000, a LeMans 5 and an R90S so far.  Maybe we can put together some sort of vintage lunch or vintage ride on Sat.

Just wanted to mention there is a federal campground called Datil Well about 5 minutes away from the Eagle Campground with a nice hiking trail

In the past, that is where the Rally was held originally...but there was some issue with the food / beverage permit and the Forest Service, I believe....

...can't find a Michelin Road 5 GT (rear, 190/55ZR17) anywhere online/in town. Not a show stopper, just find it strange that their "latest and greatest" for heavier sport tourers are so dear. If this persists, I'll just slap on the non-GT variant a week or so prior to departure.

I think this might be the size that some Harley owners said was pretty much unobtanium. My 200x60x16 seems to be readily available, i am going to need one in the near future so I may just order one to have it available when needed.

I just got a reservation for Saturday night, I'm working and can't get the Friday off. I will be riding in around supper time, see the final evening at the rally, and then sit around the virtual campfire at the Largo before riding home Sunday.

I don't think my bike qualifies as 'vintage'

Hi Tony!  Long time - No chat!   :thumb: :boozing:   Hope you are well over in Palm Desert!

Looking forward to catching up with you again!  This year, I'll be there with my Centauro and camping with some fellow riders at the Eagle's Nest Aug. 19-21.

With the slowing of --19...and the opening up of things again....and the fact that many people have already been vaccinated...I predict a record turn-out at Datil , (maybe 70-75 bikes?), this year. :thumb: :boozing:  :thumb:

Is the campground large enough for that many rides?  Lines at the restrooms can get awkward

Yes...plenty of Port-O-John's posted all around the campsite...
Then, they keep one room "OPEN" for the campers for showers, etc....
Then, there is the gas station / general store / restaurant / saloon...

Datil is a short sprint into NM from the middle of AZ.  Gibbonsville is a nice ride into ID.
